A RELENTLESS FIGHT AGAINST WORLDLY WAYS SO TOTAL HEALTH CAN PREVAIL

Treadmill Today

All right. Here I am. I have been reading blogs for quite some time this morning. I’m posting a little later than usual. It’s 43 degrees here and the wind has subsided. I have good news.

Today I am working out. LOL. Yes, at least 15 minutes on the treadmill and a few weights. I told myself that when October came, I would begin again. I have been thinking about it the past few days, as October is just a couple days away. September 29th sounds like an excellent day to begin. I really want to get past 147.4. I’ve lost 9 pounds since I quit logging my food intake. That was driving me bonkers. I had to stop but I feared that I wouldn’t lose at the time. I lost so I’m okay.

Yesterday baking went well. Ed loved the new recipe – raisin bars. It was like a cobbler type thingy. Now I want to try it with apricot or orange. Or any other fruit, really. Ed made a creative chicken cordon blue dish for dinner. I was full but still ate another one of those bars afterwards. Sigh. Whatever. Ed gave my shoulder a squeeze and mentioned that it feels like I could use a work out. LOL… He knows that I wanted to get back into it in Oct. And he’s back on his routine too. So, maybe no bars after dinner tonight. …??? maybe.

I have a new table top for my old sewing desk. The desk has to be around 70 years old and I wanted to preserve the top. Ed had a large piece of counter-top from a job he’d finished in his workshop. I fell in love with it when he brought it home. It’s like a blue, grey and white marbled look. It’s dark, but I really really loved it. He used part of it for a project in his shop and I got the rest! I serged my denim raw edges on the highest speed to test the top. It was solid, like sewing on a steel surface. I needed that. Love it. Love it. Love it.

I have another promise to myself. I am going to watch a show on TV. I don’t watch TV so this will be a big change for me. On Lifetime, at 9 pm on Thursdays, Project Runway airs. It will be the 6th or 7th episode of the season this Thurs and I want to see if I like it. I admit that I have a project runway fashion ruler, but I haven’t ever seen an episode. LOL. I think the idea of the show is cool.

I’m still working on the denim skirt project. I have the muslin waistband to apply before I begin cutting my fashion fabric. I found other fabric that would be cute for a skirt yesterday, also. I’m going to make a vest of the left over denim fabric if I am ready to move to another project. I called my Elna dealer about a knob that needs to be replaced and they told me that it would take a few weeks. I think that’s ridiculous. Too long without my serger. I’m going to contact two other people to see if they can help me in a better amount of time. The knob is irritating, but I’ll deal. I won’t overeat about it. Okay, I’m going to eat some cheerios and then get on the treadmill!!!!!

  1. You’re welcome to write as much as you want! I’ll share my blog with you. Haha, check today’s entry ;)

The marble sounds delightful… you make me want to start sewing! I’ve always wanted to print my photos on fabric and sew htem into a quilt. I have done a few “dream” series, adn i think they would be appropriate for a sleep oriented thing such as a quilt. Hmm… PROJECT!

  2. you go girl!! 15 minutes is great and before you know it you will be doing more.

43 degrees is cold - it’s nice here but still a bit warm

Can’t wait to hear you have made your goal of getting under 147

    Have a blessed day!

  3. Good for you for getting back into exercise! No changing the fact that all too soon we won’t be taking pleasure walks or bicycle or canoe rides. So unless you do a lot of fall/winter outdoor activities, you might not be getting the same amount of physical activity as in warmer weather.

Re your comments - Our Walmart just re-opened with the grocery section, so I don’t know if their produce prices have gone up. It’s just that we have a couple supermarkets in our area that have good prices on stuff like that.

Surprisingly, the bike has been safe when it’s locked at our suburban train station.

Very creative design - that flower pocket w/ stem is so cute. I need to get some girly stuff into the house! I’m trying to be considerate of bf by not using super feminine decor, and we don’t have any spare rooms that can be all mine or all his, so it has to work for both of us. But I suppose the closets could be a good option. Or the basement! I did make my own piping for my ottomans - the piping fabric matches the rest of the cover, so I had no choice, lol.
