Dream Machine
“When I loved myself enough I stopped blaming myself for choices I had made—which made me feel safe and I took responsibility for them.” ~Kim McMillen Yeah, like when I overeat. I know what I’m doing at the time, but I shut off my feelings and continue to eat.
It’s 52 degrees this morning. I got up at 6:30 AM. It’s still outside. I have the day off and it’s going to be good.
Yesterday canoing was a lot of fun. Even though the sun was out and shining on us, the breeze was cold. It was so neat to canoe in that weather. Our route down river only took 1.5 hours. We loved it, but we like longer trips. We drove up river to locate more landings that we could launch our canoe for a longer trip. We were in luck! We found several landings. From the farthest one, it would take about 3 hours to canoe! That would be perfect.
For lunch I made ham and cheese sandwiches. Mine was 1 slice of bread. I also threw together some cut up fruits, nuts and 1 Tbsp yogurt for a salad. Of course Ed bought caramels and I ate a small handful of those. I had a bite of his cake then came home and had ½ of the cake that I didn’t eat yesterday. We had a breakfast meal for dinner—1 egg, 2 sausage, 1 toast. I had to have 1 of those Martha’s cookies after dinner too with 2%. O’well, I didn’t hit a sweet craving this last TOM, so it just must have caught up with me. Scale was back down to 149.2 this morning.
I stayed up until 11:30 PM researching sewing machines online. It’s just ridiculous because my Simplicity is just fine. It’s cute. I love it to death. I have this list of feet that I purchased for it and have barely used them. Anyways, I found Audrey and Decorator’s Choice. I love that Baby Lock gives girly names to their A-Line machines! I’m sure they cost a fist full of money, and even as much as an industrial straight stitch machine. I love the speed of 5000 stitches per minute, but I’d settle for 900 spm, a few cute embroidery satin stitches, and a choice of more than one stitch on the home sewing machine. Okay, enough dreaming.
Today is cleaning day. I will bathe the dog since my pinched nerve is healing nicely, cut cat nails, clean house: vacuum, scrubbing floors, cleaning entire bathroom and kitchen. I want to wash sheets too and finally straighten up my art room. Sigh. That may not happen today, but it will happen.
I also have errands to run today which include, buying more bird seed, bank, and library drop off. My day should be relatively easy.
I haven’t received any of my sewing or beading magazines yet. I suppose that’s okay. I’m sure Threads will advertise more sewing machines that I shouldn’t buy. I want to be a super great seamstress but that takes a few years and then more to get to. At that point, perhaps I will invest in a new machine.
I haven’t decided on dinner yet. I would like to go through my BHG cook book to find a recipe or two. I have planned to not eat sweets today, as of now. I guess I’m not feeling like I want sweets. I am feeling like I want vegetables. We need to buy groceries, big time. I only have what’s in the garden and wilted celery in the crisper in the fridge. Time for more! OH! We’re going to go to our farmer’s market on Tuesday! We’ve not been there yet and it’s right by the library. Should be fun and I feel good to support local farmers.
Okay, I think I am rambling. I better get that dog cleaned up. DreamingMe signing off.

Glad you enjoyed the canoeing yesterday.
I never thought my machine was too slow until making my pj pants! I’ve been meaning to dust and oil the innards for a while, so maybe that’ll make a difference… By the way, I have a portable Kenmore which I use w/ an Ethan Allen sewing cabinet. I should post a photo - it’s actually not bad looking considering it’s a 70’s era piece of furniture, lol.
Enjoy your day off!
Hey there. Glad the pinched nerve is healing and that you enjoyed canoing
