The New Me….

I was Running!

Posted by: Hilary In: Slump Buster Challenge!| Weight Loss Goal

I started training for a 10k yesterday. It freaks me out a little but so did the 5k and I did that! I have 6 weeks until my next 5k and 13 weeks until the 10k. The program I’m doing is a 12 week schedule but I figured the extra week wouldn’t hurt. This week I run 3 times at an easy pace, 2 or 3 miles depending on the day. All I can do is try, my mind is so far the only thing that believes I can’t do it.

I found a new favorite breakfast. Multi-grain frozen waffles with raspberries and sugar free maple syrup! mmMmm… for 2 waffles, 1 cup rasp and 1/4 cup syrup it’s only 4 points! Plus the syrup actually taste like maple syrup not some nasty fat free crap.

Food is going well today and will continue to go well! I’m going to the gym after work for 30 minutes of cardio and then my back/shoulder/biceps workout which usually takes about an hour.

**7:00pm Update**
Just finished at the gym! Did 30 mins on the elliptical and 40 mins of weights. Why is it that I can motivate others to workout harder but when I’m by myself I always have a little voice saying “that’s enough, I can be done now even though I have a few more reps to go” I push through the voice almost all the time but it’s really hard.

For those who wanted to know about the syrup, it’s Log Cabin sugar free syrup. It has 35 cal, 0 fat, and 12 carbs (for you who count those) per 1/4 cup serv. It’s very yummy!

SB Challenge : Clean eating = 1/5 days
Water = 125/80oz today
= 1/5 days
Exercise = 130/250

What kind of syrup did you buy? I love waffles but have stayed away from the “fake” syrup but I’ll definitely try it.

And this may sound silly, but I would banish the word “try” from your vocabulary. That opens the door to not meeting your goal. Instead, just tell yourself that you are going to train for a 10K and leave it at that.

But I agree w/shallweshrink, you can totally do it!!

The mental battles are the worst! At least you can ice a sore muscle. Too bad there is nothing we can do when our brains are handling the running too well. :-) Congrats on working on the 10k!

10k training! WOO! My lofty goal is to do a marathon… eventually. I can see myself doing it and totally dominating…but it’s the actual doing it that gets me. It seems like it would take SO long to do! And I’m only up to 3 miles.

What sugar free syrup are you using? I found one that was really good too called Carys or somethign like that. Your breakfast sounds good. I am always at a loss for breakfast that sounds good and i actually want to eat.

OK, I kept my food pretty clean for the day, I did a good amount of exercise AND drank two bottles of water. Yay!
