This list is a work in progress and each week I am going to work to improve something on it or add something new to work on. I will check them off as I start them.  In a lecture my nursing instructor was giving she said “It takes a person at least 30 days to break a habit”.  I decided that if I can make these changes for about 6 weeks, no cheating, and do it cold turkey, then I should be able to add them back in within reason and not feel like they are a crutch.  So when I can have cokes again the hope is that an occasional coke zero will satisfy the need.  Or if I am at a restaurant and they serve rolls before the meal I won’t eat 5 or 6 of them.

  1. No cokes
  2. No deserts/ sweets
  3. Stop adding salt
  4. Switch to whole grains
  5. No fried foods
  6. Limit red meat
