Suppliments I find worthy:
June 13th, 2010
I’ve tried alot of supplements over the years, mainly when I noticed my hair thinning. but there have been a few that I find make a difference in how I feel. Although none really re-grew my hair, good health is essential to having good hair. These are the supplements that I think are worth taking.
Mainly, if i notice an increase in my mood and energy level, I can say that it is a good supplement
1.) Floradix- a natural form of iron from botanical sources in a liquid form. ~$40/mo.
2.) Dr. Ben Kim’s Acerola cherry vitamin C powder- goes hand in hand with iron supplements, but I notice an improvement to my dry hands in the winter when I take this. ~$30/bottle, lasts ~1month or so, depending how often i use it.
3.) Cholorella and Spirulena- just feel over all better. price varies depending on brand, but ~ $16/ bottle which lasts a while.
4.) Organic, raw, unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar- a good digestive aid and over all tonic and prebiotic. A fermented food. ~$6/bottle
5.) Pearls probiotics-feel so much better with the beneficial bacterias. this brand can be taken w food and does not require refrigeration. $20/mo.
6.) Celtic sea salt-with cooking or dissolved in a glass of water in the morning. good for people with the mysterious “adrenal fatigue syndrome”. actually makes me feel like I am retaining more water, as if i’m not so light headed. ~$5/bag-lasts a while.
7.) Standard Process Chaste Tree Berry- a good female hormone regulator. I was put on this by NP when i quit BCP’s. helped to regulate my cycle and pms symptoms. I just feel more on an even keel when I take this. ~$90/3 months supply
with the exception of the Chaste Tree, I don’t need to take these daily. so it’s not like I buy all these every month. i just can’t afford them all. I kind of know when I think a particular supplement will help and as long as I keep myself feeling balanced, I don’t need them all the time.
