Weekend Shopping, Food and Weight Update

So all my hard work the last couple weeks is starting to pay off! Sat. morning I was 165.4-ish, and it was the same Sunday, and today! (165 even). I am so thrilled! I intend to keep it up for the next 4 weeks, until my trip to Japan at the end of April, which will be my vacation from basically everything. Currently I am walking on the treadmill 50 min (or as long as I have time, i.e. tuesday night) at 8.5% incline, between 3.5 and 3.7 mph. Going after work weems to be working, for now, anyway.

I needed more tank tops, for working out (and eventually the summer) because I only have like 4-5 and they are all HUGE, so first I went to DOTS, because they had $5 tanks. Elaine told me about them, I found a location, and found out they also have a lot of really cute clothes, and it is CHEAP. And, apparantly, it FITS~ I am a more-or-less normal size range girl now it seems. Of course, I still can’t wear anything with a fitted boob area, or skinny straps due to the fact I have huge knockers, but I may do the camisole thing. Then I went to Khol’s, to find more tank tops, that were a bit less snug than the DOTS ones, in case I felt self conscious.

Oh, and I bought a WHITE skirt. I NEVER wear white. I feel like a whale in it. But, I saw this skirt, white with blue patters embroidered on it, and it was flouncy, and it was up to size 13, so I said, I will try it, maybe it will fit. When I took it off the hanger and wrapped it around my waist, it appeared to go half way around. So I took it into the dressing room.

And it fit PERFECTLY! Like, OMG! And it was on sale and stuff, too. And, I might not have even tried it on, due to money, except when I left my last job my extra vacation time got cashed out so I had some unexpectd money and I decided to treat myself. I wanted to wear it Sunday, and then it RAINED, but I wore it anyway, haha. Yay!

Wednesday and Thursday

So wednesday and thursday were kinda like disasters, but not because I ate all the food in the house, but because I was fed. lots. And I went to the gym yesterday, and am going again today. So there! Exercise, I shall (re)conquer you yet!!

Wednesday was day 1 of training at work. ALL DAY training, urgh. Lunch was provided. Deli sandwhiches, I ate one with either ham or turkey ham, or maybe just turkey, I don’t remember, so big bread, and about 2 servings of meat, and a slice of cheese. And this REALLY GREAT tomato bisque. I never figured out of it had cream or not, I am so bad at identifying ingredients. I had two bowls, the bowls were little paper cups, I think they were ~1/2 cup each. I DID NOT eat the carrot cake for desert. Good Lisa!

Then we went out to eat dinner, at Legal Seafood. Which was either really terrible for the diet, or just rather terrible, I don’t know. I started with a roll and half a butter pat (one is just way too much). The appetizer had a variety of things because it was a sampler, so I had a little piece of tuna sashimi (the only healthy dit) a shrimp dumpling, a little piece of crab cake, since thats what I was getting, and some of the fried calamari from the other appetizer. Then I ordered the crab cake combo, which is one crab cake, 4 jumbo shrimp and a bunch of scallops. It came with a side salad, but it wasn’t very interesting and I wanted one of the menu, that had apples, and goat cheese and avacado and orange dressing, ooh it was good. I got the half portion. I go out to eat seafood like, once every 2 years so I don’t think to ask them not to put butter, and oil, and sauce and stuff on the shrimp  and scallops, so that was too bad. The crab cake I am AWARE of the so-called unhealthiness of it, so that was its own little thing. I forgot to ask for the dressing on the side of the yummy salad, so I didn’t finish all of it because it was DRENCHED in dressing. I couldn’t even eat the “salad” that came with the entre, which was basically lettuce drenched in oil and vinegar. Eww.

I had to leave for dance class, and left right before dessert was ordered. Phew!!.

Then I went and picked up Steve, and we went to dance, and Elaine was there which is SO AWESOME because I don’t get to see her too much, though lately we have finally started hanging out again. Her sewing is getting so awesome and she has a great new hair cut, including a lock of BLUE HAIR of which I am EXTREMELY ENVIOUS. I always wanted blue hair, but don’t want to bleach.

I had been feeling bad for myself and complaining to steve, about how it had finally looked like I was going to LOSE a bit from that morning on the scale, and then i went and ate the lunch, and the dinner. But I was feeling less horrified with myself bythe end of dance, especially since I wasn’t feeling so full anymore, and had decided to go to the gym thurs and fri after work. And then we got ice cream after. I got the one scoop of hazelnut, which ended up being like 2 anyway, with crushed hydrox cookies on top. mmmmm.

Thursday was a little better. I had the usual breakfast. Lunch was provided again, and it was some kind of chicken breast with a lemon sauce. The chiken was breaded, and the serving was probably close to a “serving”, but of course it was breaded. And I had a piece of dark, nice bread. (Weird, two days in a row for bread!) and vegetarian chili, again in the ~1/2 cup containers. I had two servings. At first I thought it was more like, vegetable soup than chili, since it was mostly tomato and peppers, but later I discovered that there were some beans and chikpeas, they had just all sunk to the bottom. There was cake again, but I only had a tiny sliver. The cake was presliced, and I was going to cut a slice in half, but someone had already cut from a piece and left a piece a bit less than half, so that was perfect.

I went to the gym after work so on the way I had an apple and an orange and a fiber one bar. I thought maybe the extra orange would be a good idea since last week I thought the apple and bar weren’t quite enough, but today I only have an apple again. Next week I may bring bananas, now that they are actualyl getting RIPE.

For dinner I had stir fry again, my dinner of the week. 1 serving brown rice, two of pepper/onion mix, sauce and chiken (~3oz before cooking, I remembered to wheigh this time!) and a string cheese (on the side, of course). I packed up a little container with my peanut-butter chocolate morsels and brought ‘em over to Steve’s.

I’d say yesterday was a good food day. It was higher than I like when I’m trying REALLY HARD, because of the provided food, but I didn’t over eat or anything.

Tuesday was a lot like Monday

Exercise was Taiko, which wasn’t quite as greuling as usual, but still nice, oh stress relief! And the gym, 30 min on the treadmill. I upped it to 8.5% incline, and spent about half at 3.6mph, half at 3.5 with a bit of flux at each end. I tried the ellyptical, but didn’t like it. It felt like my legs didn’t go as far as necessary to walk/run/whatever comfortably. Maybe there are different ones. Also, I have to do it all myself? I like the treamdill because eI can FORCE myself to work harder, as in keep up. Not strength of will to make myself move faster. Eh.

Oh yeah, I like, walked on the treadmill today at the Y ~45 min, mostly at 3.6 and 3.7 mph with a bit at 3.8 and then swam a bit, 15 laps instead of 25 cause I was tired.

The heart rate monitor is kind of interesting. Last week I was like, 169 going 3.6 mph. But then on friday, and again today, I noticed that my HR didn’t get that high, or only briefly. Friday it was mostly at 160 going 3.6 on te 8% incline, and today I had to push it to 3.8 to get in the mid 160s or so. Can one really improve that much in one week? I mean, I did go to the gym a bunch in a row, but still.

I have made it to the gym like, 4 times in the last week! I ROCK! OF course, eating a lost doesn’t help so much but i was pretty good today. Yesterday. . . not so much.

Sunday

Got up WAAYY LAATTEE like 1:30 ouch. Ate a bowl of cereal ( shredded wheat mixed with fiber one, plus soy milk) and an apple and didn’t feel like I’d eaten enough, so ate some instand oatmeal.

Then we ran my errands, dropped of some library books and found out the malden salvation army isn’t open on sat or sun, but walked around the memorial thingy across the street.

Then we drove home and walked to Alfredo’s Italian Kitchen, which is like, .1 miles from my house, haha. Ordered a pizza and walked outside and came back for it, brought it home. That was my exercise for sunday.

For Lunch and Dinner, I ate:
1/2 of a 16′ yummy pizza from alfredo’s italian kitchen. With added ricotta cheese from my own container, cause I luv it.

Ricotta Cheese, Fresh Basil, Prosciutto, Mozzarella Cheese, Parmagian Cheese & Fresh Tomatoes

Also other assorted junk, like one of Steve’s fruit gems and a candy cane. Probably something else. Oh, strawberries and spinach happened, cause I was feeling guilty.

Not my best day. But, it coulda been worse, I guess.

Food and Exercise Log

So I try to use the daily plate sometimes, but sometimes also, i have to guestimate and adjust and use whats available. I shall retype it hee in my usual fashion. The Spanish Rice stuff I made I estimated to be ~300 cal/10 oz based on ingredients. The chili, i can’ say. It came in a container that looked larger than a Ben&Jerry’s pint so I estimated 3 cups, and used the trader joe’s chili numbers, even though I bought it at Roche Bros.

As for exercise, I went to Taiko class, during which my arms nearly fell off during the orosh, and then I went to the gym later and used the treadmill for er, 37 min? I got there too late to go a full 45. I used my heart rate monitor I got off ebay and my heartrate was in the mide-high 160’s most of the workout, after I bumped the speed up to 3.5 or 3.6. I currently am walking on a 8% incline, and will stay there for a while longer, especially if I keep going like only once a week. According to the HRM I burned ~330 calories. Which is kind of nifty information and I will assume it is close to the truth.

The heart monitor I got was a polar F6 (in pink,, which was better than ugly green or scary black) and I got it for 76 bucks on ebay (free shipping) which is way awesomer than $110 plus tax in a retail store. Happy ’bout that. Playing with it this weekend, it seems my resting heart rate when lying down is somewhere between 59 and the mid-60’s.

FOOD!!!

Don’t be mislead. I ate disgustingly yesterday. It involved Stew and a handful of tortilla chips, which was fine, and like, 4 pieces of apple cake with chocolate chips, a small slice (yes small as in SMALL) slice of a frozen pepperoni pizza and a bunch of chocolate chips all on their little lonesomes in a little paper cup. When I go home to my parents I eat EVERYTHING. EVER.

Err. . . It’s been a while snce I updated. . .

I tend to do that when I eat badly. I just, don’t feel like recording my crap eating. But, whatever

Current weight: 167-168. It said 167 saturday morning. But, I’ve eaten SO MUCH this weekend, i probably will gain a pound. Whatever

I seem to be coasting in a “eat whatever I want and not gain/lose weight” period. Which is kinda cool. But, it will have to come to an end soon. I mean, I would like to not be fat anymore . . . yeah.

Friday was my last day at work so there was a party. But the eating started before that (like it ever ends, haha)

Thursday evening I met up with a friend and we dressed up in japanese gothic lolita fashion and went out to eat shabu shabu. This was the healthiest bad-for-me meal this week. I had a sea-food and beed one. So there was fish, shellfish, beef, veggies, and soba noodles. I ate it all. Yum! And then we went to see Coraline, and I ate a box of junior mints. Yum! (the 3 servings in a box-box). It is the traditional movie candy, after all.

I didn’t feel entirely bad about myself thursday, as I walked about 4.5 miles that day.

Then Friday was my last day at work. It started out well enough, I had a big bowl of shredded wheat with soymilk.

Then the party started at noon. Pizzaria Regina. I ate 3 slices of pizza, a bunch of salad, and we had cake so I ate a giant slice of cake! Then, Steve met me at work and we brought home a pizza and a bunch of the cake. For dinner I ate. . . 2 pieces of pizza! (one of which was like 2 pieces all by itself) and some cake! And a bunch of chocolate-peanutbutter lindor truffles I received as a gift.

And then saturday was Black Rose Ball. I ate. . . Pizza and cake for breakfast!!!!! And an apple. . .

And for dinner before the ball I had fallafel and grapeleaves/rice, with pta and dips of course.

That would have been fine, but then we went to Denny’s after, and I got a breakfast platter thingie, and ate ALL OF IT!!! (except for a few bites of haz potatoes and one of the sausage thingies). I had been craving ice cream during the ball and Steve made fun of me that I had weird ice cream cravings, I eat a whole lot at once and then dont eat any for like a month. Yeah. We didn’t get desert though, we were too full.

And then Today, I had cereal for breakfast. . . AND CAKE! . . . and an aple. . . . . .

And then I went grocery shopping, and got the Ben & Jerry’s peanutbutter cup ice cream i had been craving since yeasterday, and ate half of the pint and all the peanutbutter cups for lunch! And tosses the rest of the icecream, as it was now useless to me.

And then we went to Stacey’s house and she cooked dinner

And now I am home, eating truffles!

So like, maybe I’ll go to the gym this week. I hope. Yeah.

Return of the Food Diary

Yeah, like, I guess I can record this again. I’m not really counting, just, eating. There are often estimates. When I stop losing/start gaining, I’ll pay more attention. But if I lose ~1 lb per week average over a month, I might just not care. At least, until winter is over. Stupid winter.

I never record drinks. That’s because I don’t drink calorie-having drinks, not because I don’t drink anything. I mostly drink water, and lately crystal light in pink lemonade flavor, and a store brand knockoff in pomegranate cherry.

Stupid Snow

Monday is like, my work out day. When I go, which keeps being every other week, because things come up, like STUPID SNOW.

Originally I had a laser hair removal appointment tomorrow, at 7:45, which meant I might get back in time for swimming. But I decided to cancel and reschedule it, because of the horrible driving conditions. My car skids on dry pavement, much less snow. And then I realized, well, I can’t drive to the gym either! Phooey. So, unless the roads are clear and the snow has stopped by 7:30, no gym for Lisa. My hope is to do the 30 day shred. But, I’ve been meaning to do it for like, a month and never do.

Already earlier today I skid and almost damaged my car. I was going on a slight down hill, less than 20 mph. I skidded as I approached the corner (like, far from the corner) took the turn still trying to break (there was no straight, only turn left or right) and bumped into the curb. THEN my car had the curtesy to stop. I parked and checked it out, apparently I only hid the hub cap, THANK GOD, there are marks on it, but the car is fine and the tire is fine (driver’s side, front). Also fortunately, there was absolutely no one around. It was a little side street in winchester, or woburn, I’m not sure where the town line is.
