PROGRESS REPORT
Starting weight (7/5/2009): 212.8
Last week’s weight (1/24/2010): 177.8
This week’s weight (1/31/2010): 176.2
This week’s weight loss / gain: Loss 1.6 pounds
Total weight loss: Lost 36.6 pounds
Still working towards that next milestone goal: 172.8 (Once I reach 172.8 I will have lost 40 pounds!!). My “reward” will be a full day at the spa (my favorite spa - Lafayette Park Hotel).
Judging by my weight loss plateau, it looks like I’m eating too much still. I will readily admit that I really have been eating nonstop, especially at night after work. I need to reign that in. I figured I’d be in the 173-174 range by now, considering much of January I hovered around the 175 area.
I have finally decided that I am ready to take my fitness goals to the next level. I joined the Renaissance ClubSport in Walnut Creek, CA. I’ve never really been a gym person. I take walks every morning on the treadmill, and I enjoy outdoor walking as well. I figured as long as I have comfortable shoes I never have a reason not to work out. But, walking takes a toll on my feet (plantar fasciitis) and it gets boring after a while. I tried running, but that is not realistic right now.
So, I joined the gym to take classes (yoga, spin, barre) and to use the swimming pool (the best part!). I used to swim a few days a week when I was in my early 20s. But its been over 13 years since I did it on a regular basis. I’ll tell you, there is no better feeling than being in the pool. I am such a novice swimmer, but its like nothing else in the world.
I joined on Wednesday the 27th, and so far I have used the pool 3 times. I swam 1000 meters yesterday and probably about 1300 today. I promised myself that if I stick with it for a month, I’ll buy myself an under water MP3 player and get a lap counting watch.
