Weigh-in #30

Clearly I am not very good a writing in this blog anymore. I will admit that I definately fell off the IP bandwagon before I had barely got back on it. I had it in my head that I was just going to eat clean and do something different because I couldn’t stick with eating properly for Phase 1.  After a week of not eating well, and not feeling well, I decided I needed to get back on the bandwagon. It hasn’t been easy. I was doing pretty well until I had one awful cheat day yesterday. It’s going to take me all week to get back on track now.

Weigh-in #28

I didn’t bother doing a weigh-in last week because I was only a day and a half back from Vegas and only 1 day back into Phase 1. I was up about 3 lbs after I got home from Vegas and it’s taken pretty much this whole week to get it off. Therefore I only lost 0.5 lbs from my previously recorded weight.

I wasn’t perfect in Vegas, as I expected. It wasn’t easy finding good places to eat while I was there. Or things on the menu that I could modify enough. Americans eat such huge portions as well, most of the places I went I got a plate double the size I would here in Canada. And carbs come with everything you order…fries, potatoes, hashbrowns, toast, etc. If you already have toast, you don’t need hashbrowns and vice versa. It’s one or the other, not both! No wonder people are so obese! The night we went to the buffet at Harrah’s, I was pleasantly surprised by the good choices I had there. I had a huge plate of crab legs of course because that was the whole reason we went there. But they had good veggies to choose from including roasted zucchini, squash and peppers. So I didn’t have to eat just salad. I ate dessert that night as well. Thankfully they even had some sugar free options on the buffet that were really good tasting. I also had alcohol while I was there. I only had 3 drinks the entire time and made sure I drank lots of water afterwards. I definately ate things that weren’t part of phase 4, but I didn’t over do it and I didn’t beat myself up about it either.

I made sure to write down everything I consumed in my journal so my coach could see what I ate. When I went to my weigh-in with him this past Monday, initially he said he didn’t even want to know what I ate. I guess he was expecting it to be bad. In all honesty, I was too. I was sure he was going to ream me out for some of the things I ate. However when I stepped on the scale, I was down almost a whole pound from the last recorded weight he had for me. He looked over my journal and said I didn’t do too bad at all and that he wished everyone ate as well as I did when they went on vacation. So I felt 100x better after that.

I’m not gonna lie, getting back on Phase 1 sucks. I had horrible wicked headache and was naseuous for the first few days. I didn’t even feel that bad when I first started IP. I’ve really been struggling with sticking to it 100% ever since coming home. I don’t think there’s been a day that I haven’t cheated in some way or another. From eating Cadbury Creme Eggs, to sugar in my Tim’s Iced Coffee, to an Indian food buffet loaded with potato and chick pea dishes to eating 2 restricted IP products in the same day. Ugh. I’m sure if I had stuck it out 100% I would have lost more than half a pound this week.

Beginning of next week I’m gonna start doing some exercise outside now that the weather has gotten better. I’m gonna start doing some walking in the park and maybe work my way up to doing the C25K or whatever it’s called. I’ve never been a fan of running, but I’m sure it’ll be a whole lot easier now that I’m not carrying around an extra 70 lbs.

I just have to survive Easter dinner at my parent’s! Happy Easter!

Weigh-in #26

All week my scale was showing a number I haven’t seen in a really long time. Of course the other days don’t count, the only number on the scale that matters is Friday. Well today did not disappoint. I am out of the 170’s now! I haven’t seen a number in the 160’s for probably 11 years! Go me!

I started phase 4 this week. I’m having a hard time with it. Not because I can eat a lot of the things I haven’t been able to in the last 6 months, but because it’s so much food! Normally for breakfast my body was getting an IP drink, maybe an omelet or oatmeal. Now I’m eating eggs, bacon, toast with peanut butter and fruit! I’m enjoying it, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like I’m struggling to eat it all. Yesterday I was so full I actually forgot to eat my fruit.

I’m actually surprised I’m down another pound this week despite the phase change. It’s all good though. I imagine after my 4 days in Vegas, I’ll be back up a little bit. And then it’s straight back to phase 1 when I get home so I can get rid of the rest of this weight for good!

Weigh-in #25

Despite going into phase 3 this week, breaking up with my boyfriend, stressing out over a full workload and whatever else was thrown at me, I lost 1.5 lbs!

I actually wasn’t prepared to lose anything because my coach told me most people gain a bit of weight when they go into phase 3. So I was expecting to see the scale go up instead of down. He was a little upset with  me on Monday when I weighed in at the same weight I was last week at his office. He said there was no reason for that and picked apart my food journal trying to find the culprit.

I’m looking forward to going into maintenance for a little while. It will be nice to have a little indulgence while I’m on my vacation in Vegas. I’ve already decided I’m not going to go crazy and that I will try my hardest to eat as close to IP protocol as possible. My coach said no alcohol. That will not happen though. I’m not gonna go to Vegas and not have a few drinks. I will most likely limit my alcohol to one night though. Plus I know as soon as I get home, I will be going back to phase 1 so whatever weight I might gain between phasing off and maintenance the last few weeks will probably come off relatively quickly. Or at least that’s my hope. It might be a nice reboot for my body and hopefully I can drop the last of this weight off sooner than later.

Weigh-in #24

Down 1.8 lbs this week which brings my total to almost 67 lbs in less than 6 months.

Phase 2 has been going pretty good thus far. I’m finding I’m never hungry though. I guess the extra protein at lunch fills me up quite a bit.
