First, I’d like to start out with a little update. I will be moving yet again later this month, so I started going through my room on Sunday. Since I’ve got so many clothes, I decided to start there to motivate me (and clear out some working space) to continue getting ready for our garage sale and move. Anyway, like most women, I have purchased items of clothing thinking, “I’m almost that size, so why not buy it a little smaller.” Well, I found a pair of dress pants, a pair of jeans and a top that I have never been able to wear since I purchased them that now fit!!! I was in tears when I tried on the top. I can’t tell you how many times I have tried that thing on thinking that I’d finally be able to wear it without my gut sticking out and making it look weird. I’m so excited to wear these items and show them off to my boyfriend!

Ok, now for my goals:

Lose 25 lbs: Achieved ___________
Lose 10% of my start Weight (256 lbs): Achieved ______
Lose 1/4 of my total (-35 lbs): Achieved __________
Lose 1/3 of my total (-46 lbs): Achieved October 28, 2009
Lose 50 lbs:
Lose 1/2 of my total (-70 lbs):
Lose 75 lbs:
ONEDERLAND!!!:
Lose 2/3 of my total (-93 lbs):
Lose 100 lbs:
Lose 3/4 of my total (-104 lbs):
Lose 125 lbs:
Goal (145 lbs):

I’ll have to fill in the blanks later once I look back at my records. I’m going to try to post photos of my progress thus far!

~Steph

P.S. I also purchased a really cute red dress for Valentines Day in a size 14! I may be bighting off more than I can chew, but I figured if I was a size 16 at 215 lbs, which is 23 lbs away, I should be able to fit into a size 14 after ~35-40 lbs. I’ve got 3 months and 2 weeks to fit into that dress and I will work my tushy off until I do! Wish me luck!

…there was excess weight, and lots of it!

I’m starting this blog 10 months into my weightloss journey, but I am only 1/3 of the way there, so I figured now was the time to try something new. So, here goes!

Most people make a vow sometime between December 31st and January 1st that, “This year will be the year that I finally lose the weight!” I had been a member of that group for far too many years, and each year I would fail myself. This year, I decided I wasn’t going to do the cliche New Year’s Resolution. Instead, I didn’t make a vow, I just did it. I waited until the following Saturday, January 10, 2009, when my local Curves was hosting a Weight Management class. Now, I had been a member of Curves since late June 2008, but I hadn’t been taking weightloss all that seriously. So, I consider my start date to be January 2009.

Even my attitude had changed. No more, “I want to be skinny!” It was, “I want to be healthy!” I can’t tell you how many times I attempted to lose my excess poundage, a fate I’m sure most of you have experienced. My best progress was in my Junior year of college where I lost 35 lbs. I plateaued for about a year and a half at 215 lbs and finaly quit Weight Watchers when I realized that it wasn’t helping me. After that, I gained the 35 back along with another 35 to make the grand total, and heaviest known weight, 284 lbs (dress size 26).

Now, my personal best for total weightloss is my current 46 lbs (dress size 20), but I’m still heavier than I was when I quit WW. Sometimes I get down on myself because I know that I was 23 lbs lighter and 2 sizes smaller 5 years ago, but I’m also very happy and proud that I didn’t plateau at 35 lbs like I had the last time I took the bull by the horns!

Since I started 10 months ago, my Curves numbers are as follows:
Height: 5′4″ Age: 27
Start wt: 284 lb
Current wt: 238 lb
Total: -46 lb
Start Inches: 307.25*
Current Inches: 265.0
Total: -42.25 in
*I’ll have to double check this value since I’m going off of memory!

I’m really excited about the milestones that I have achieved, and I will list my goals and acomplishments in my next entry.

~Steph
