Getting My Life On Track

Ok, a lot has happened to me since the last time I posted on here.  I’m no longer following the 17DD.  I’ve actually decided to start counting calories with MyFitnessPal app on my phone.  It’s the most handy little thing ever <3   haha!A bit about what happened, I broke up with my 8+ years boyfriend and I have a house with him I’m trying to sell.  I’m going out with someone new and he’s gone out west to work for a few months.  I want to go with him but I’m stuck at my parent’s until my house sells.  It’s a lot of stress lately.  My weight isn’t too bad.  I’m actually lighter since the last time I weighed on here.  I’m currently at 181.2.  My goal weight is 135.  I want to tone my body for Halloween since I’ll be wearing a Sailor Moon outfit (short skirt!).  Need to lose belly weight!  Also, my boyfriend is coming down for my birthday so I’d love for him to see a difference in my weight.  I’m not gonna say anything to him and see his reaction :)  I really need to get healthy and happy <3  Here goes!

Day 11 of 17 Day Diet

Weigh in this morning: 183.4 (Down 3.8lbs)
I’m still slowly losing.  I really don’t mind, as long as I’m losing and not gaining.  Yesterday, I was a bit hungry between my snack in the morning and my lunch.  I drank lots of water to curb my appetite a bit.  I was just soooo hungry.  I also tried to keep myself occupied.  I didn’t cave but when I came to my lunch, I had a greek salad and when I mixed the dressing, the lettuce was no longer good so I only ate about half and couldn’t eat anymore.  It was disgusting.  I ate the remainder of the feta cheese since I LOVE it and I was hoping it’d keep my hunger at bay longer.  I ended up making myself a white hot chocolate in the keurig.

Here’s what I ate yesterday:
2 clementines
Greek yogurt
Tims Coffee (Mmmmmm!)
Blackberries
Yogurt
Half of greek salad
Cherry Tomatoes
Yogurt
Chicken (seasoned with Mr. Dash)
Cooked peppers & onion (with EVOO)
Greek Yogurt

I noticed I ate a lot of yogurt.  I don’t really know how many ml I’m eating but I don’t mind if I have a little more.  I haven’t been regular for the past few days.  Not sure what’s happening there.  You’d think with all the veggies & probiotics I’ve been eating, that wouldn’t be a problem for me.

Day 10 of 17 Day Diet

I’m still going strong!  I find myself less and less hungry now that I’m no longer eating so much sugar & starch.  It’s an amazing feeling.  I feel great about myself too.  I still drink one coffee a day (with sugar & cream).  I don’t know if I’ll give it up.  It’s something I really enjoy in the mornings and don’t think it’s too bad to limit to one-a-day.  Weighed in this morning and I weigh: 183.6 (down 3.6lbs).  I lost 2 lbs this week on our weight loss challenge at work. (that puts me 2nd place, yay!)  I know I would’ve done better if not for my off-days on Friday & Saturday.  Oh well!  I put that behind me and going forward.  I still need to find a workout program that I enjoy doing.  I know it’ll help with the weight loss.

2 Tims Coffees (need to try to say no to the second!)
Yogurt
Blackberries
Chicken Salad with ranch dressing
Yogurt
Cherry tomatoes
Chicken Breast (with Mr. Dash spice)

Oh, and I found a new favorite yogurt… Iogo!  LOVE IT!  It’s only 35 calories per container, there’s no added sugar and there’s no aspertame.  It’s sooooo yummy too!

Day 9 of 17 Day Diet

Already on day 9!  How time flies when you’re having fun haha!
So yesterday, I noticed a few things I need to work on.  #1, I need to drink more water.  I noticed I didn’t drink ANY water all day except with my dinner.  #2, I need to exercise!  I had said I was going to do 17 mins of exercise bike everyday and I only did it ONCE!  Not acceptable!
Weighed in this morning at 184.6 (down 2.6).  Weight loss is a lot slower than the first time I did this diet.  Tomorrow is my weigh in at work and I hope I can go down more than one pound in a week.

Tims coffee (x2)

Chicken breast (with cream of mushroom)

I’m starting to think that maybe I’m not eating enough calories??

Day 8 of 17 Day Diet

So I have to confess, on Friday and Saturday, I haven’t followed the guidelines of the diet because I hadn’t stocked up on fresh fruits & veggies and just went off.  Sunday, I started again.  I weighed in this morning and weighed 184.8 (down 2.4lbs).  It’s not a lot but with the cheats I had, I’m happy :)  I’m going to do good this week.  I stocked up on fresh & frozen fruits & veggies and also bought packs of skinless & boneless chicken breasts.  I didn’t eat a lot yesterday.  Didn’t eat lunch…

This is what I ate:
Greek Yogurt
Strawberries (around 10)
Yogurt
2 Tims Coffee (Sm. DD)
Caesar Salad
Chicken Breast
Greek Yogurt

Day 4 of 17 Day Diet

Day 4 today.  Yesterday was a lot better than day 2!  I wasn’t as hungry and I did really good.  This morning, weighed in and weighed 185.0 (down 2.2 total).  I was really happy with that :)  I feel like my mood is shifting for the better.  I actually feel lighter.  It’s a good feeling!

This is my eating diary from yesterday:

2 eggs scrambled (cooked with butter)
Blackberries (around 10)
Green tea
Tims Coffee (sm. DD)
2 clementines
Yogurt
Greek salad
Cherry tomatoes (around 10)
Yogurt
Extra Lean Ground Turkey Patties
Steamed veggies (with butter)
Greek yogurt

So I know I’ev been using butter but I don’t love eggs & veggies without it.  I still don’t think it’s too bad.  I’m still losing and I love my food so I think that’s great in my book.  Boyfriend is still eating the same dinners as me.  Last night though, he had bread with his patties and I didn’t.  I enjoyed my dinner even with no bread.

Day 3 of 17 Day Diet

So far so good!  My boyfriend is even eating the same thing as me during dinner and he isn’t complaining!  We’re eating healthy and it’s good so, he likes it.  He needs to lose weight too so it’ll only help that he follows.  I weighed in this morning at 185.6 (down 1.6) YAY!  LOVE IT!

Here’s what I ate yesterday:

Blackberries (around 10)
Green tea
Tim Hortons coffee (sm. DD)
Yogurt
2 clementines
Sm. Greek salad.
Cherry tomatoes (around 10)

Chicken Breast (seasoned)
Peppers (cooked with EVOO)

Tonight, we’re planning on eating turkey burgers (minus bread) with a side salad. (:

I’m not going to lie, yesterday was a VERY hard day for me for hungry-wise.  I ate sooner than I would normally but I know day 2 & 3 are the worst days.  I just need to get by those two days and the rest should be easy. (at least that was the case the last time!)

Day 2 of 17 Day Diet

So, here is my menu for yesterday:

2 eggs (scramble) cooked with butter
Around 10 strawberries
Coffee (with sugar & cream)
Yogurt
2 clementines
Caesar salad (no croutons)
Cherry tomatoes (around 10)
Yogurt
Cooked peppers (with olive oil)
Chicken breast (sprinkled with cheese)
Greek yogurt

Now I know there’s a few items that aren’t on the list, but I don’t want to be TOO strict.  I need a little wiggle room or I’ll just end up failing.  This is how I did it the first time and I had lost a ton of weight.

I ended up doing 17 minutes of stationary bike yesterday while I read.  I was reading and puffing haha!  I felt it and sweat it so that means it worked!

I weighed in this morning and I weighed 187.2 (the same as last Wednesday).  I’m thinking if I wouldn’t have started this diet yesterday, I would’ve gained.  Let’s hope for a little loss tomorrow morning.  Tomorrow is the official weigh in for my weight loss competition at work.  I want to see at least a small lost if any.

Day 1 of 17DD

So, today I’m starting the 17 Day Diet again. I’ve been thinking a lot and it’s the only diet that’s worked for me in the past. My only struggle is the first days. I struggle to find something to eat that I love. I’ve got a menu planned out. I’m going to follow it as closely as I can. I need to stop drinking my coffee slowly (first starting with Tim Horton coffee, I didn’t have one this morning! :D) I’m drinking a regular coffee at work but I had my green tea at home. I’m hoping to stop ALL my coffee and just drink green tea. That’s one of my goals. For exercise, I’m not big on it so I’m planning on biking on my stationary bike while reading. Hopefully it won’t be too bad since I’ll also be doing something I love. I’ll do 17 minutes of that tonight. I wanted to weigh in this morning but only remembered while I was eating and I wanted to weigh in before. The last time I weighed in was last Wednesday the 9th and I weighed: 187.2 (OUCH!) I gained a LOT lately. I think stress is a large factor in the weight gain. I think once I get in the groove, it will all fix itself as I lose the weight and get my confidence back. I’ll post my daily food diary for today tomorrow.
