I’m 58 years old, married for the last 38 years to the love of my life. Mother of 7, grandmother of 7 (and counting :)).
Never had a weight problem growing up or the years I was raising my family. I weighed 128 pounds when #7 was six weeks old and stayed around there for the next 15 years. I started gaining slowly after age 40 and nobody was more surprised than me when I ended up with 90 extra pounds. I lost 60 pounds about 10 years ago, slowly gained back 50 of the 60, lost 40 pounds 5 years ago and pretty quickly gained that back. Both times I lost weight I did it in a short amount of time, averaging about 10 pounds a month. Since then I would lose 10 or 20 pounds, gain it back, lose it … on and on. Last spring in one month I gained 20 pounds putting me close to 100 pounds over what was my normal weight for years. It took me six more months before I decided to finally get with the program and do this the right way.
