Spinach and the city

Ok, I’m sorta back. :) Today’s workout was Turbo Jam Cardio Party.

I went to NYC last weekend. Nothing like seeing slim trim fashionable people everywhere to motivate me to keep going!

My body’s been craving spinach lately, who knows why. I got a bag yesterday and I used it to make chicken wraps. So yummy! And I feel great - I oughta eat more veggies.

I also found out today that it might sorta have to do with this RLS thing I have going on with my right thigh that sometimes keeps me awake. Apparently iron deficiency is a cause of secondary RLS - day before yesterday night I couldn’t sleep because of it. Yesterday I ate the spinach(good source of iron if eaten with other stuff - see link below!) and I slept well. I ate some today too and I generally feel better. Isn’t it amazing how sometimes your body just craves what it needs?

I also bought a skirt today - a skirt! I haven’t worn one in agessss. Size 12, a little tight but we’ll work on it. I love buying slightly-smaller clothes as incentives. :D

OMG! Does anyone know what happened to fl0wer’s blog?? She was such an active poster!

  1. Welcome back Ms. Ann!

good to see you homegirl and you’re working out for me too - DAMN - good to have you back.
Flower moved to a new site but I can’t remember the site she gave me. I tried to keep up with it but obviously unsuccessful…. :(

Nope didn’t get the turbojam - but I use bare escentuals for the mineral stuff. I like it.

Good to see you here again and at that in a size 12! Damn girl - you go!
    xooxxoxo

  2. I’ve had the RLS thing my whole life…since before they came up with a cool name and big expensive drug commercials for it…

two things work for me: tonic water before bedtime or (and this is weird, but effective) a couple of Tums or Rolaids. I used to take quinine for it (which is what’s in the tonic water), but you need a prescription for that stuff in the US now. If you go on any meds, ask about quinine…it’s an old-timers’ cure, but doesn’t come with the side effects or price tag of these new RLS drugs.

I’ve been eating spinach like a maniac myself lately & now that you mention it, I haven’t had any problems on those nights…thanks for the iron tip & congrats on the size 12! I’m dreaming of size 12 right now, but it’s months away from being a reality for me.

    :)
