Rainy days…

It’s raining heavily tonight, following the slow rain we had all day. I had the fan on and suddenly heard a noise competing with it and went to the window to look. It was a beautiful sight. The sky  was violet and the trees, dark against it, twirling and swaying in the wind. It was one of those moments I was grateful just to be alive, to witness it. I clutched the window and pressed my body into it and watched, and listened, as the raindrops dripped down the sheet of glass and the leaves fluttered, to settle on the tops of cars, landing on them as if placed there with intent. I looked across the road to the lane opposite and saw the halo around the streetlight. A streetlight on a wet road, is a thing of beauty. Light on a wet road, is a thing of beauty. A patchwork canvas that nature scribbles on, as she pours her paint to make the shadows look just right.

Right now I hear the rain as it drips heavily onto the metal box that covers the space where the airconditioner should be. A steady, insistent beat. And I don’t feel so alone. It feels like the universe sent me a hug.

Today’s workout was Pilates for Dummies with Michelle Dozois. I am going to try and incorporate more pilates in and see if that helps my flabby midsection. My legs are in great shape right now - if I do say so myself :D Now it’s time to work my way up.

Food was somewhat bad today. But not enough to stress over. Life is good.
