Update

Well its March 1st here in SK.  I’m using this week to catch up on lost time with the bf.  He finally sold his business so now he has time off.  In exactly 7 weeks we will leave for a 2 week vacation in the Phillipines and then return to SK before he leaves for his 1 year world travel.

On the weight loss front, nothing is happening.  I gained 5.6 lbs this past week.  It was a bad week.  It’s time to regain control.  I’ve been going to the gym four times a week.  I’m training again with my trainer and taking some hot yoga classes.  Diet has been on point so far this week.

On a side note, always be nice to people especially if you don’t know them or don’t know their whole story.  You may think they are exactly like you, but you would be wrong.  Everyone follows a different path.  Everyone has their own story to tell.

I’m not an all or nothing kind of person.

I give it my all and I am accountable to no one but myself and God.  I am doing this for no one but us.

Week One Update

Hello all in a far away land.  This is for me…a week one update.  The red team this challenge is very vocal and enthusiastic which I totally love.  Every challenge starts off with everyone pretty excited but then along the way things start to die down.  I prefer the beginning of the challenge and hope we can stay that way throughout the whole challenge.  My eating this week was kind of ok/not too bad.  I noticed I was eating too much cheese so I cut that out.  I also re-introduced Special K into my diet which was a great feeling.  I had a stressful end to the week (found out my job is not renewing my contract at the end of the year) and it showed in my food choices this weekend.  I’m not expecting a huge loss tomorrow and I don’t feel like I deserve one even if I see it.  I have too many stress hormones right now and its TOM this week.

The stress in my life will get to me if I let it, so I have to try to be proactive with it this time around.  My plan is to exercise more this next week, stay on track with my diet, start looking for a new job for the end of the school year, and to stay committed to myself and this plan.  I’m super sad about the whole situation because it will make transitioning into anything else very difficult.  The bf is leaving in May to start his world travel for a year.  I will leave in July to join him in the states for at least a month and a half, and then hopefully return to Korea to start a new job….but this also means we will have to find a storage place for all of our personal belongings for the year…I think I will only live May-the summertime with just my clothes, computer, and toiletries…UGH…its fustrating to think about, but at least I have 8 months to find something else to do…..

Next week is coming fast…its already Sunday afternoon here in South Korea.  More later in the week…

Haha. Wake up call.

Well folks. Thanks for stopping by to read another day in the life of boring ole me.  That’s right I said boring.  I don’t think I’m boring, but then again someone else does.  Thanks for reading my blog anyways.  I had a great day today.

Food- Breakfast: 1 cup special k cereal, 3/4 cup low fat milk, 1 medium banana; Lunch- 1 turkey and swiss sandwich with extra veggies on whole wheat bread, 1 medium apple, 1 nutrigrain bar; Dinner- Black Bean Tostadas (Weight watcher’s receipe) I found online from http://www.angelfire.com/journal/wwrecipes/542.htm.  I did adjust the calorie though because I added boneless skinless chicken breast, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, no cheese, and less beans.

Exercise- Rest day though I did hike up a nice big hill.

Water- 80% right now, and its only 7pm. :)

An update on life: School starts back next week so life will be crazy busy here on the island again.  For those who are just now starting to read, I live in South Korea on an island off the southern tip.  I teach at an international school.  I have an amazing Korean boyfriend and we have been together for almost 1 year 3 months and we have been living together for about 5 months now.  He leaves in May to go on a one year world travel adventure.  That will be an exciting time for him. Not so much for me as I will stay here and continue working.  On the plus side, I hope to stay at the school I am at for an additional year so I keep the same vacation time and then can then use that vacation time to meet up with him throughout his year of travel.  We already have plans for the summer to visit my family in the states for a month and a half.

Exciting countdown begins!  Taylor Swift is coming to Seoul, South Korea for a show on February 11th.  Guess where yours truly will be?  That’s right. I’ll be at the show!  I can’t believe after three years here country music has found its way to me.  I can’t begin to express how excited I am about this show.  Three of my biggest hobbies and interests: NASCAR, country music, and reading books.  Now I can count 2 out of 3 here in Korea!  Not too bad!!

Anyways, as I said at the beginning of today’s blog….someone thinks I’m boring.  Sorry if my life seems boring.  I didn’t update this blog for a very long time so getting back in to the habit of creative writing is going to take some time.  Nethertheless, thank you so much for stopping by and visiting my little slice of boring foreigner abroad life. :)

Another Day

Hello all.  Wow another post this week already.  I’m not getting off to a bad start now am I?  Well, I got the first of the year off to a good start with my exercise but I haven’t done much the last two days really.  No real reason.  I’ve been preparing stuff for when I go back to work next week.  I went in yesterday and put up a new bulletin board outside of my classroom and did some more things in the classroom.

Anyways, diet is good so far this week.  I desperately have been wanting to eat after 7pm at night and it feels like its killing me to not eat that late.  Part of it is because my boyfriend doesn’t come home from work until 2am right now.  Now usually, when I’m working I am already in bed asleep.  But because this has been my vacation time I have been waiting up for him to come now.   Needless to say, it has thrown my sleeping pattern and my eating pattern for a loop.  I’m determined to enjoy the last few days of my vacation but I know I will feel better when I’m back on plan with everything (sleep included).

Anyways, the highlight of my day today was a wonderful email message I got through my 3fc account.  Another person sent me an email that just brightened my day to no end.  I know I have a long ways to go in my journey, but sometimes I forget how far I have already come.  It’s nice to be reminded I must be doing something right because I do have good results to show thus far.

Happy New Year

Well everyone here we go again.  This year is THE year.  2011 is going to bring lots of changes in my life and I’m hoping I will be able to hit onederland this year.

My weigh in for the new year is 282.0.  My highest weight was in 2009 at 389lbs.  So right now I’m sitting at 107lbs down.  That might seem like an accomplishment but I don’t feel like it sometimes.  I definitely have not been committed to my plan 100% of the time.  I’m determined to do better this year.

I will be heading home to the states this summer (I live in South Korea) in mid July so I would like to hit below 250 by then.  For my food changes I am still calorie counting.  When I cook for myself and my boyfriend at night I will be using many weight watchers receipes.  For exercise, I have a very active job working as a teacher for the 3-4 year olds at my international school, however, I will also be incorporating additional exercise.

January 2011 plan:

Food- Calorie counting and Weight Watcher Meals

Exercise- 1 hr/6 days a week Wii fitness games (Biggest Loser, Jillian Michael’s Ultimate Fitness Challenge, Wii Fit aerobics)

Water- MUST increase daily allotement.

Personal- Keep loving me and loving the people in my life.

NOTE: After looking at last year’s posts I did really crappy for my weight loss in 2010.  I really slacked off.  I did at one point during the year make it down to 269 but I obviously put that back on.  Not going to happen again.  One day at a time. :)

5/24 all day long

Hello cyberworld.

All is well here on the island.  The sun is finally shining after a long weekend of downpouring rain.  It’s supposed to be nice for a solid week so I am looking forward to some sunshine.  I hope it will help improve my mood.

The Biggest Loser Summer Challenge stuff is starting next week, so that will be an added accountability to keep myself on point and target every week.  I am at 289lbs right now.  I’m hoping to hit 275lbs before I go home.  That means I need to drop 14lbs in the next 5 weeks.  Definitely do-able!  Going back to the gym tomorrow to start back up again.  Also, payday is next Monday so I should be good to go for my dietary needs to start this challenge off.

Only 37 days to go until I’m stateside again.  It’s been almost a full 16 months that I have been here in South Korea.  Looking forward to a visit home to see my friends and family and then I will be returning to South Korea for another year of teaching.  I will be home for 2 months and I know it will be rough.  I will miss my bf a lot, but I know things will be ok.

Anyways, I’m off to get things ready for tomorrow.  It’s going to be a busy day.  I have work, an interview, gym, dinner, and hanging out with the bf.  Take care all!!

Bad Bad Blogger

Sorry everyone in cyberworld.  I have been really bad about blogging as you can tell.  But, I’m hoping to change that.  My goal is one blog a week.  So here goes:

I’ve been in South Korea for 16 months now.  100lbs down and counting.  You can see my progress pictures here: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/mini-goal-photo-album/202151-100lbs-gone-counting.html#post3296400.

Life is good.  Work is blah, but that’s ok.  Finally heading back to the gym later this week after being out for 2 weeks with a knee injury.  Diet has been off this week but I’m determined to get back on track starting tomorrow morning.  Relationship with the boyfriend is doing great.  We have our 200 day anniversary in 2 days.  We have definitely had a few down moments in these past 7 months but we have had lots of highs and great times together.  I feel really blessed to have him in my life and look forward to whatever the future may hold.

Hope everyone has a good week.  I’ll check back in later!

Week 6 Check In

Hope everyone out there in cyberland is doing well.

It is the end of week six for me here in South Korea.  Stepped on the scale this morning, and even with TOM, I lossed 5lbs this week.  Woohoo!  That means: 1) I met my Halloween challenge goal one week before Halloween, and 2) I have lost 23lbs in a little less than two months.

I am so excited to continue on this journey.  The Biggest Loser Challenge ends on December 14th.  My vacation is December 12- December 19.  My reward for doing so well with this challenge is that I will be traveling from South Korea to Japan for my holiday.  :)  Really looking forward to it.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Week 5 Checking In

Hello everyone.  Hope all is well.  Did really well this week.  Lost 4.5lbs and 3.5 inches.  So my total for five weeks so far is 18lbs lost.  I feel like I am doing good with my calorie counting and getting in my water everyday.  I definitely feel like I could be pushing myself harder with more exercise.  At the end of this month when I hit pay day, I am going to join the gym in town.  It’s already starting to get cold here on the island and I don’t like walking or hiking when it is so cold outside.

I’m super happy with the progress I have been making.  I’m definitely on the right track to get down to my 1st goal weight by Christmas and my 2nd goal weight by July when I go home to the states.

Christmas goal- To be under 300lbs

July goal- To be roughly 225lbs

Oh, and I am only 5 pounds away from reaching my goal of 20lbs for the Halloween challenge!  And I have 2 weeks left!

Week 3 Update

Hello everyone in cyberworld.  This was week 3 of the biggest loser challenge.  I’m happy to say this week I have a lose of 4.5lbs and 3 inches.  I’m feeling great and getting lots of comments from co-workers and friends about my weight loss.  With these 4.5 lbs I have officially lost 50lbs since being here in South Korea.  Woohoo!  I also met my goals from last week so I was able to enjoy a great massage on Thursday night.

Anyways, I’m hoping to get my new workout dvd’s in the mail this week.  I had my mom purchase them and ship them here from the states.  Can’t wait to be Sweatin to the Oldies with Richard Simmons!  Guilty pleasure of mine; he’s so motivating and funny.

My goals for this next week are:

1. Stay on water intake.

2. Keep calorie range between 1600-1900 this week.

3. Exercise 4 times this week for 1 hour each time.

4. Eat at home every night this week (except Mon and Wed for teaching but will bring something from home for dinner).

GO RED TEAM!!!!
