Day 2
Uncategorized March 24th, 2009Today is a whole different story. My chest hurts, I can feel that whiney, feel bad for me I’m sick attitude coming on, and I really want to do nothing. UGH. I’m going to leave for a run at 9 with lil man. He has been SO good this morning, so I asked what he wants to do and he says “go for a RUN!” and I’m all UGH, but I’m gonna suck it up. And then I am going to take him to the park for a little bit. And then? HOME to do NOTHING.
Yesterday didn’t go exactly as planned. I planned on having no snack after dinner, but I was low on calories (like that EVER happens) and fat so I grabbed some peanuts. I measured them and ate nothing else, so I’m considering it a good day. As for riding the bike last night? Nope. Intervention was weird and I wasn’t into it, so I did something weird… I actually just sat and talked to my hubby. For a long time. Without kid interuption. And I remember why I like him so much. He’s cute and witty. I woke up this morning to a little love note.
So that means I am 2/10 in the challenge. I’ll update later with at least a couple more.
B: 1/2c oatmeal, 1/2 scoop protein powder, 1/4c soy milk, 1/2 banana (45 grams)
PWS: none… ran into neighbor and let our kids play for a bit
L: same as yesterday, but increased the roast to 4 oz (roast, onions, carrots, potatoes, cabbage leftovers)
S: 1 piece Ezekial bread, 1 Tbsp Almond butter, 1/2 banana (40 grams), 2 prunes (shut up! they are YUM!)
D: 4.5 oz chicken breast, medium sweet potato w/ cinnamon, broccoli
S: granola bar, which added about, um, NO fat.
Water: 13ish
Total calories: 1517

ran with the munchkin 2.11 miles, and it took a LONG time, like nearly 25 minutes. My chest seriously is hurting. So I ran for a little over a mile, stopped and played at the park, ran the rest, stopped and played at another park, walked home. Not too shabby. I’m not sure how I am going to do bootcamp tomorrow without killing over. On another note, I talked to my neighbor today, and I might have a new workout buddy! Yay! I am dying to try a Zumba class, and would love someone to go with
And, I am watching the Strong Man competition on tv, and can I just say… I have a new crush. mmmmm And I don’t even know his name. Ha!

Dinner is done and I am stuffed! Because I skipped my am snack again, I am gonna have to have a snack again tonight. My fat is so low again. Apparently I need to incorporate more fats into my diet. I should have had walnuts on my sweet potato! That is so yum. Or added flax seed. I forget about that. Oh well. I’m going to try to motivate myself to hop on the bike during TBL, for at least half an hour. It would be nice to get my exercise for the challenge out of the way today

No workout tonight, as I am feeling like poo. UGH. I’m gonna be struggling tomorrow in boot camp.
Night!

Hey! Do I see that you want to do a Zumba class - all I gotta say is go! They are so much fun - I am going that way tonight after work.
I haven’t been on the boards much lately - life seems to be going by so quickly - but thought I would drop you a line.
Hope you get to feeling better - and if you do attend a Zumba class I want to hear about your thoughts on it!

I used to watch that years ago. Haven’t seen it lately. Back then it seemed like everyone was named Magnus. That show is awesome. What channel?

I eat peanut butter every day. I really, really like the natural kind. Smuckers natural is what I buy. The texture and taste are sooo much better than regular pb. Also sunflower seeds. O.M.G. How I love sunflower seeds. The ones I have been getting are WAY too salty. Like painfully salty. Mixing them with unsalted ones helps.

Soy nuts also make a great snack; I like the salted ones, and they’re more protein than carb, so munching on them feels like a freebie, a pass, and I can congratulate myself on making a healthy choice. I think that you can also congratulate yourself on making a healthy choice with the peanuts, on spending time with lil’ man and going outside, and on talking with your hubby. That’s awesome. I want a boyfriend I can just talk with, you know?
Congrats on a good day, and what vitamins are you taking to avoid the cold or make its duration shorter? Acai? Emergen-C? Zinc? I hope you get a chance to sleep and keep your body healthy!
