Day 1
Uncategorized March 23rd, 2009Well, can I just tell you, this challenge has me skurred. The workout part? I’m good. The eating part? AGHHHH I have serious snacking problems. You do not even want to know what I ate this weekend. And did I work out? NO! In my defense, the hubby wanted some corn chips and he was soooo sick, so I put lil man in the stroller and ran (literally) to the exchange. It took me 4 minutes to get there and 3 to get back. But, I stopped there. Nothing else. And, I put off his chips for a couple of hours, but then succumbed when he broke out the super hot salsa I just got. It is full of organic, fresh veggies and delish. Then yesterday I was geared up for a LONG run, got ready, and wham! tropic storm Screw Up Your Run was blowing through. And the wind and rain finally stopped just as I had given up and told hubby we could go shopping. When we were shopping my head started hurting and I think I might be getting what lil man had then gave to hubby, and if that is the case? SHOOT me NOW cause they were both sick as dogs for days! Okay, enough of my rant.
So, for the challenge, clean eating means no snacking. Specifically from the hours of 12pm-dinner. Around 3 when the boys have their after school snack, I have a snack… or 3. It’s so gross. Then I am not hungry when dinner comes so I do 1 of 2 things… 1. don’t eat much and then get snacky later or 2. eat a normal amount, but feel sick all night long. Obviously both of these options are no good. So, I am allowing myself ONE snack in between these hours. Day will go like this: B, PWS, L, S, D. Nothing more.
I have boot camp this morning, so that should knock off a couple of miles. Also, tonight is Intervention night, so I’ll ride the bike for at least half an hour, which is like 6 or 7 miles. So obviously the mileage isn’t gonna be a problem. Thank goodness, cause I am scared of the food part. Did I already mention that?!
Happy Monday, chickies. And good luck!
***************************
After bootcamp this morning, it is obvious that I am coming down with this nasty chest cold that lil man and hubby had. DAMN it! I left for the store right after I got home and got some cold medicine and Vitamin C drops. I hope this fends it off. I can’t be sick right now. I just do not have the time for it. Poor hubby is still sick and back to work today. 4 days of no sleep and he is exhausted.
In other, less contagious news, I am a bad ass. We ran a mile today in bootcamp where I started as the leader and was supposed to pace every one. Well, I had no idea how fast I was running; I was just trying to run fast enough to not embarrass myself by having to stop, but not so slow that everyone passed me. We finish the mile (just as I was about to die, as my chest was literally caving in) and the leader says “thanks for the nice pace! less than 7 minute mile!” and I was thinking holy shit, I just ran a sub 7 minute mile?! Pushing a stroller?! woot, woot! And I lived! I really love this bootcamp. It is so challenging! I would never have done that if people were not watching! haha.
I’m going to just start posting my food on here. It takes too long to update a page. Yes, I am lazy. And yes, I weigh everything. It’s neurotic.
Food for the day:
B: 1/2c oatmeal, 1/2 scoop protein powder, 1/4c unsweetened soy milk
PWS: none… went to pharmacy instead
L: leftovers… roast (2oz), carrots (3 oz), onion (3oz), potato (3 oz), and cabbage (4.5oz)
and some baby carrots (2 servings) and 1Tbsp hummus
S: 10 grapes, 4 strawberries, and a granola bar
D: 2 poached eggs, 2 slices Ezekial bread, 1Tbsp Polaner Strawberry All Fruit, 1 cup Topicana 50 OJ, 2
links turkey sausage, an apple.
S: 1.2 oz peanuts
Total: 1539 calories
and not enough water ![]()

My problem is after dinner. And it is SICK how much food I can eat between dinner and bed time. Sick! I call it “snacking” but it is more like binging. A snack is a controlled amount and what I do…it has nothing to do with control.

I was about to say something really mean about last night’s Intervention, but I stopped myself. It was a weird one.
Awesome job on Day 1. I broke mine with cottage cheese. Really? Couldn’t I have broken it with chocolate or ice cream or pizza or something?

Way to go on the bootcamp - that sounds like fun! I know what you mean about pushing yourself harder because people are watching. I definitely work harder in a class setting because I know that there are other people around!!
