New beginnings!
Uncategorized March 9th, 2009Today is Monday, and like all of the rest of the world, it is the day I seem to do good at starting new things, or rather getting my hubby to start them
He is on board to do the blood type diet with me, the only problem being that we have different blood types! But, we eat such different stuff anyway that it wasn’t a big deal to double shop… prety much the norm. I did get lots of neutral dinners, though. We are going to be eating a lot of fish, which I am stoked about. He’ll be having tofu 3 times a week, during which time I’ll have beef. Not looking forward to a lot of beef, but I’ll manage. I had ice cream last night, but other than that I was good all day. I even resisted buying movie snacks for myself when I took the boys to a movie so that hubsy could get some quiet time to do homework. Yay me! I’m pretty much already acclimated tot he soy milk, but I realized that I hardly drink any milk in the first place, so I am going to have to find a smaller container of it. The commissary only sells a half gallon and that is so wasteful. I have been off the coffee for 5 days counting today, and replaced it with green tea. No worries there either. The first few days I had a headache and I was so lazy, but 5 days out I am over it. I don’t even really miss it. Crazy how that is. I cleaned out the kitchen of all wheat containing products. Gawd, wheat and corn are in EVERYTHING! Ick! I have a HUGE box of food that is going to the food pantry today. Whey protein, oatmeal, soups, whole whaet pastas, sf syrups, tons of aspartame containing stuff like jello, and much more. It’s crazy how I thought all of that stuff was healthy for me and it really wasn’t. I can honestly say that just by loosely following this diet all weekend I am already feeling more energetic. This week will be the real test.
So today I have a Mommy & Me boot camp, and I am afraid! I can’t decide whether to take 5 or 8 pound weights. Yeah, I know, I’m taking the 8’s. I can be such a baby!
I’m planning on a run after the class, since I have to do my 10 miles this week. I am so ready to be back on track!!!
Happy Monday, chickies!

Oh. My. Gawd. Bootcamp is HARD!! I made it, but I do not think I will be walking upstairs for like, ever! My legs are spent. And secretly, I kinda love it
We did circuits of running and then weights and pushups and squats and repeat. I think we probably ran a total of about 2 miles, so nothing major. But, my HR got higher than it ever has before. Eek! Sprinting will do that in my neighborhood. So, I’m pretty stoked about this. Yay for Monday and Wednesday mornings!
Eating is on track today. Stoked about that, too. I’m making shrimp and scallops for dinner tonight, with asparagus and tomatoes and maybe a fruit salad for desert. mmmmm I am finally back to logging my food. I took a 5 day hiatus where I totally half assed it when the MIL was here.
Oh, and I read a Dr. Seuss book to my lil man today that I absolutely LOVE!! It’s called Gertrude McFuzz and it is amazing. All kids should read it. Okay, all women, too. And men. Okay, everyone. Loved it!
