Orange BOWL!!!

Uncategorized 3 Comments »

My Sooners are playing for the National TITLE tonight! w00t! I am SO ready for this game. Now if I were just home so I could watch it on campus. Boo for 1400 mile distances! So, in the interest of full disclosure… I will be drinking tonight! :)

I have a cooky hubby, you all know this. He has signed us up for a MARATHON. In MAY! Oh, how am I gonna do this?! We downoaded a training schedule and we are starting it Jan 13th. So, wish me luck! Oh, and the Mud Run? Already SOLD OUT. Seriously. That is so bunk. And we won’t be here next year for it. We’ll live in Virginia then. Oh well, a marathon totally trumps a 10K, right? ;-) So, since I am going to have rest days, I thought I’d start now. I am going to walk today… enough to burn all the calories that I will drink tonight, that is the rule I made for myself. I really only need about 200 calories, since I am a light weight and 2 beers will more than likely be my limit.

Hope you all are having a kick butt day!

So as I was pounding the pavement (aka, the treadmill), good ole Jack Johnson came on and was singing to me…

Who’s to say
What’s impossible
Well they forgot
This world keeps spinning
And with each new day
I can feel a change in everything
And as the surface breaks reflections fade
But in some ways they remain the same
And as my mind begins to spread its wings
There’s no stopping curiosity

And by sing to me, I mean singing. to. me. It was like, wow, he is so right! There’s no stopping me from reaching every goal that I set for myself. I just absolutely love this song today.

It’s so easy to get caught up in what we WANT to be, instead of being proud of what we already are. I mean, I ran 3.35 miles on the treadmill today. And it wasn’t that bad. If my ipod hadn’t died (damn having to charge the stupid thing) I would have been able to go even longer. I remember a few short months ago when I couldn’t run over 2 miles! I wanted to run 3 so bad, and it felt so far away. I was thinking “man, I SUCK!” but really, everything just takes time. And like Jack says, with each new day I can feel a change in everything. Really. I know, I am so profound! ha!

I have run every day for the last 7 days. O.M.G. It is totally a record or something. And with today’s miles the grand total is… 20.38 miles this week. Crazy! And, I weighed in today (since my normal weigh in was Wednesday’s at work, and I can’t do that obviously, I picked the same time)… I was a little over 2 down. Seriously. YAY! This is so, oh so, awesome!

Okay, and that isn’t the only thing down. I have noticed since I haven’t been on the treadmill in a while, my heartrate stays way lower than it used to. My body was getting used to my usual speed, even though I still feel like I am gonna DIE! So, I got a new heart rate moniter today. I am gonna heart this thing!!

Hope all you chickies are having a fabulous day!!!

I am 100 calories under AND I got 25 minutes on the bike while my son had B-Ball practice. Pinch me, this day is too good!

I totally missed a day!

And I never do that! Yesterday was pretty uneventful. I ate right, ran 2.7 miles, and then watched the tube. I never watch tv! It’s football season, though :) I am falling behind my hubby on the running, so I hopped on the treadmill this morning and put in 20 minutes to catch up a little bit. I logged 2 miles. It is SO not fun to run on the treadmill. Like no fun at all. Outside is WAY better. It seems to take forever inside…

So I’m gonna try to get through all the new blogs and find my peeps and catch up! Hope you are all having a fab Tuesday!!!

Oh, and one last thing. I am almost positive that tomorrow when I weigh in I will be down. I am wearing a pair of jeans today that I have not fit into in AGES! w00t!

Super Sunday

Aghhhhhh! I have been trying to post this same blog over and over and it just keeps dying! Okay, lemme see if I can remember the high points. Calories have been in check today, making it 4 days in a row. And I ran, again. 3.34 miles today which makes my total percentage 1.23%! yay! Can I get a w00t?! All I ask for is a NON-HILLY run. Damn, it’s like a bad rollercoaster ride. I need to find some more level routes.

I have had a killer headache all day. I’m gonna go to bed early. Night, chickies!

*sigh*

This time of year reminds me of my Grandmother. I miss her. I am feeling a little meloncholy today. She passed away Super Bowl Sunday in 2000. My oldest had just turned one. She would LOVE the other two. Boo for missing people we love! To top it off, my BFF from Houston drove up to Norman to meet with my sisters and shop for the weekend since she had a date (I introduced her to a nice man while she was visiting and they HIT it OFF! yay). Anyhow, I am so jealous. My 3 best girls are all together without me. And I am here, alone, in California. I really wish I had some friends. Hell, any friends. I just do not identify with the women here. Maybe when I get involved in some of the Mommy & Me stuff and the library story times and stuff I will meet someone at least partially normal. Hopefully.

I have done nothing yet today. I am feeling so lazy!

Okay, I have a slightly better outlook now. My super cute 6 year old and I had a date day, which included all of the errands I needed to run… the bank, the mall, the grocery stores. We had a good time. I love spending alone time with the boys. While we were at the mall I dropped off my favorite diamond necklace for repair. The lil man broke while we were wrestling at soccer practice (yes, soccer season has been over for a long time. yes, I am a procrastinator.). While we were there, I had them clean my favorite diamond earrings and now I am sparkly! I never take these earrings off (they go in the second hole). My hubby gave them to me on our second date. I know. He spent almost a whole paycheck on them he later told me. Second date. He must have really had a good feeling about me!

After all that I sat around doing nothing until the bratty hubby I have decided to go for a run. It was raining and nasty all morning and I didn’t want to go for a run. Which of course means I don’t want him to go either. I don’t want him to beat me! So, he went anyway. Then I had to go. I was D-E-A-D, but I managed to pull out almost 3 miles, which puts me at .90% of goal! Almost a whole percent!! Competition is the key to all which is good, I swear it.

Happy Saturday, chickies!!

Resignation Letter?

Sent. And I have very mixed emotions about it. Relief is a big one for sure. I hope I made the right choice.

SO, in other, more pressing news, I had an AWESOME 3.59 mile run today (which felt like a 30 mile run, FYI). I ran another new way, and mapped it when I got home. I was thinking it was closer to 4 miles, but I’ll take it. I feel so GOOD today! I am now .63% to my goal. Ha! I got the hubby talking about it with me, and he said for him it would be funner if we ran somewhere, like virtual running, so he looked up places and we decided we’d run North to Oregon. So then as we were looking online, we found a cool place called the Great Wolf Lodge in Centralia, which looks uber fun and the boys would LOVE since we are known as the Wolff Pack :) It is 1145.46 miles from our doorstep, so that is the hubby’s goal. If we make our goals we’ll take a family vacation to there in 2010, and the cool part of that is that it is only about 4 hours away from Vancouver, and we’ve never been there either. I’m so stoked! I love challenges with tangible payoffs. Yes, a smaller booty is good too, but I see my booty everyday and it is hard to recognize much difference. Know what I mean?

Alright, that is all for now. I’m off to do a whole bunch of nothing!!

Happy Friday!

Happy New Year!

Last night was so fun! The men and I had a game tournament starting around 6 that lasted until about 15 minutes before midnight. We played everything from Trouble to darts to Memory. Crazy, mad fun. I, of course, was the winner! Yay! When the game playing was over I popped open the bubbly, and before we went to bed had 2 glasses. Can you say toasted? I have no tolerence for alcohol. Gawd, I am getting old. Anyhow, instead of our usual fare… pizza, cookies, chips, etc… I made a really nice, revised version. Shrimp, crab, carrots and celery with hummus, turkey and lowfat cheese with yummy, healthy wheat crackers. Oh my gracious, it was TOO good! We pretty much grazed all night, as usual. I know I made healthy food, but I still ate way to much.

So yesterday I noticed something. My favorite, old, nearly worn out belt? Oh yeah, I can go to the third hole! It has five holes, and the last one (the 5th) is worn the most, but over the course of the last year and a half, I have worked my way all the way to the first hole. Then a couple of moths ago, I was the second hole. And today? THIRD hole! w00t! One problem here. I rewarded myself with an apple fritter. I know. I am so flawed. BUT, it was daaaaaaaaamn good!

Last night hubby and I were trying to put together our goals for the year. He is such a dweeb and says that statistically speaking most resolutions are never carried through so he choses not to partake in the hashing of them. DWEEB. So, I told him to at least make some goals for the year. We decided we are going to run 1000 miles. Each. Before 2010. That should be good practice, because in 2010 I will be 30, and when I am 30 I am going to run a marathon. And the prize? A trip to NYC for my 30th birthday, complete with a stop in Nebraska to drop the boys off at their Gramma’s for a few days! Oh, I am ALL over this one. I have already figured out that if I run a minimum of 3 miles per day, I can still have 31 days off. That sounds like a lot, but out of 52 weeks it really isn’t. It pretty much is one day every two weeks. So, to counter that (since we know I’ll be taking off at least one day a week…) I am determined to up my mileage. And, hubbmeister said he would do the Mud Run with me. Apparently it is world famous and fills up quickly. So, I checked into that and the website doesn’t have a registration date so far as I can tell, but the race itself is held THREE days! June 6, 7, and 13th. And it’s a 10K. And an obstacle course. This is from the website…

This is the World Famous Mud Run! The Mud Run is a challenging 10K run with hills, tire obstacles, river crossings, two 5-foot walls with mud on both sides, tunnel crawl, slippery hill climb, and the final 30-foot mud pit. Along the course there will be 6 water points with personnel staged at each. This is the most fun you can have running a 10K! View the course map at www.camppendletonraces.com. Race individually military or civilian, within your age division, or as a member of a 5-person team. Choose the Open category with no restrictions on attire and footwear, or the Boots and Utilities category, which requires regulation military boots and camouflage utility trousers. Please note: there is a 2 hour 45 minute time limit on the completion of the course.

How fun is that?!? Now the only problem is: can I even run a regular 10K?? By June?? Dunno. But I am totally gonna get right on that.

So that is pretty much it for now. I need to make a cool tracker thing for my miles. Gonna jump on that right now!

Happy New Year, chickies! Hope you have a kick ass 1st day of 2009!

***********************************************************************

So here it is, 7 in the evening, and I am so wiped out! I have accomplished a LOT today, even if most of it was mental. :) I am proud to say that I am .27% done with my 1000 miles in 09 goal! ha. I ran first then mapped it and it was a little short of 3 miles, but that’s ok. I was glad to have a change of scenery. I also did my leg and chest/tricep workout and I am finally going to be caught up as of tomorrow. Thank goodness; I am so over pulling two-a-days. And lasty, I will officially be unemployed as of tomorrow. I know, with the economy that is probably not everyone’s dream day, but I am gonna be uber relieved.

Alright, we are off to watch Horton Hears a Who! Night!
