Last night was so fun! The men and I had a game tournament starting around 6 that lasted until about 15 minutes before midnight. We played everything from Trouble to darts to Memory. Crazy, mad fun. I, of course, was the winner! Yay! When the game playing was over I popped open the bubbly, and before we went to bed had 2 glasses. Can you say toasted? I have no tolerence for alcohol. Gawd, I am getting old. Anyhow, instead of our usual fare… pizza, cookies, chips, etc… I made a really nice, revised version. Shrimp, crab, carrots and celery with hummus, turkey and lowfat cheese with yummy, healthy wheat crackers. Oh my gracious, it was TOO good! We pretty much grazed all night, as usual. I know I made healthy food, but I still ate way to much.

So yesterday I noticed something. My favorite, old, nearly worn out belt? Oh yeah, I can go to the third hole! It has five holes, and the last one (the 5th) is worn the most, but over the course of the last year and a half, I have worked my way all the way to the first hole. Then a couple of moths ago, I was the second hole. And today? THIRD hole! w00t! One problem here. I rewarded myself with an apple fritter. I know. I am so flawed. BUT, it was daaaaaaaaamn good!

Last night hubby and I were trying to put together our goals for the year. He is such a dweeb and says that statistically speaking most resolutions are never carried through so he choses not to partake in the hashing of them. DWEEB. So, I told him to at least make some goals for the year. We decided we are going to run 1000 miles. Each. Before 2010. That should be good practice, because in 2010 I will be 30, and when I am 30 I am going to run a marathon. And the prize? A trip to NYC for my 30th birthday, complete with a stop in Nebraska to drop the boys off at their Gramma’s for a few days! Oh, I am ALL over this one. I have already figured out that if I run a minimum of 3 miles per day, I can still have 31 days off. That sounds like a lot, but out of 52 weeks it really isn’t. It pretty much is one day every two weeks. So, to counter that (since we know I’ll be taking off at least one day a week…) I am determined to up my mileage. And, hubbmeister said he would do the Mud Run with me. Apparently it is world famous and fills up quickly. So, I checked into that and the website doesn’t have a registration date so far as I can tell, but the race itself is held THREE days! June 6, 7, and 13th. And it’s a 10K. And an obstacle course. This is from the website…

This is the World Famous Mud Run! The Mud Run is a challenging 10K run with hills, tire obstacles, river crossings, two 5-foot walls with mud on both sides, tunnel crawl, slippery hill climb, and the final 30-foot mud pit. Along the course there will be 6 water points with personnel staged at each. This is the most fun you can have running a 10K! View the course map at www.camppendletonraces.com. Race individually military or civilian, within your age division, or as a member of a 5-person team. Choose the Open category with no restrictions on attire and footwear, or the Boots and Utilities category, which requires regulation military boots and camouflage utility trousers. Please note: there is a 2 hour 45 minute time limit on the completion of the course.

How fun is that?!? Now the only problem is: can I even run a regular 10K?? By June?? Dunno. But I am totally gonna get right on that.

So that is pretty much it for now. I need to make a cool tracker thing for my miles. Gonna jump on that right now!

Happy New Year, chickies! Hope you have a kick ass 1st day of 2009!

So here it is, 7 in the evening, and I am so wiped out! I have accomplished a LOT today, even if most of it was mental. :) I am proud to say that I am .27% done with my 1000 miles in 09 goal! ha. I ran first then mapped it and it was a little short of 3 miles, but that’s ok. I was glad to have a change of scenery. I also did my leg and chest/tricep workout and I am finally going to be caught up as of tomorrow. Thank goodness; I am so over pulling two-a-days. And lasty, I will officially be unemployed as of tomorrow. I know, with the economy that is probably not everyone’s dream day, but I am gonna be uber relieved.

Alright, we are off to watch Horton Hears a Who! Night!
