My ankle hurts soo much, I think I discovered part of my problems, I’m stretching my feet during my sleep, I have restless feet, always have.  But last night I was unconsciously stretching them and something in my ankle popped, I nearly sat up out of my sleep it hurt so much.  Needless to say, no running today either, this really sucks.  On an upside (if you can call it that) I don’t seem to notice the shin splint today, hopefully the ice packs have been working.  We are going to go look at a stationary bike this afternoon, I am so worried about falling off the wagon if I don’t get back out there, it’s getting depressing.  Breaskfast was good, still keeping up my fitday, one good thing….

Searched the internet today for some solutions to my shin splits so I’m starting icing and massaging it.  My ankle hurts with it, it’s so frustrating being out watching other people run and I can’t!  I’m surprised how much I miss it.   Yesterdays calories were good, 1425, and already started logging on fitday for today.  Trying a new veggie pasta dish tonight, we’ll see how it goes.  I like my cooking but typically I’m the only   one, hubby loves everything over seasoned and kids are just plain picky.  The rain continues so I’m still not sure what to do for aerobics if I can’t cycle but I can at least do some core work…I hate core work…I know I’ve said it before but I feel the need to repeat myself…..more later, I need to start putting away the holiday decorations…

Yes, I slept right through it, New Year’s has never been a big thing, took the kids to a family night at the community center which was fun, saw a bunch of my kinders and other families from the school there, and then we were home by 9:00 and in bed by 11 - snug and warm with my honey - best way to start the new year!   I feel bad that I can’t start the New Year off with a good run but everything I’m reading about shin splints says not to run on my leg.  Looking for some alternative cardio to do while I’m off my shin and starting like a good girl on my core exercises.  I hate core exercises just for the record and it is super hard to get motivated to do them, I think I need a reward for keeping them up.  I am hoping to do some longer runs for 2009 and everything I read says I need to have a strong core.  Okay the year is off to a good start - I actually logged onto fitday today, getting back to basics here.

 

2009 Goals

  • Stronger Core (hell lets throw in nice arms too -)
  • A big run.  I’m not an overachiever type so I’m going with the 1/2 Mary, but I know if I put my mind to it, I can do a full on one this fall.
  • Career Focus, pick where I’m going and start finishing the credentials I need - the kids won’t be small much longer.
  • Get back to God.  I can manage my grief everywhere but Church, but I realized recently how much my kids are suffering not having that Community in their lives.  I need to reconcile my grief if only for them, besides, I miss it too.
  • I’m going to read this entry in 365 days and despite any falls I have, and poor decisions I make I will be content and happy with who I am.
