I hate my weight
Motivate November 4th, 2008Well, SCARY NUMBER is back again, and I’m not surprised.
I’ve been eating poorly in general, although not catastrophic. More like ‘maintain heavy weight’ eating vs ‘gain even more’ eating. Still, it’s the wrong direction. We ate way too much takeout over the weekend - from Friday lunch to Sunday dinner it was all takeout. Indian, Lebanese, Thai. Oy.
I did have a few good steps.
- We went to the gym once this weekend, which was only our second time since joining (blush).
- I did a small amount of cooking and went to the market to buy fruit and veggies.
- I pulled the scale out of it’s hiding place and put it in plain view in the bathroom and have been getting on it every day. Turning a blind eye was NOT working.
I really hate being at my current weight. My rings are so tight I couldn’t get them on again if I ever managed to get them off - very ugly bulging fat on my fingers just after the rings. Yucky.
My face is round and blah-looking. Double chin (at least double) visible from every angle.
My arms are heavy and fill up certain of my jackets to ’sausage’ stage.
My belly is huge and blubbery and just gross.
My legs are heavy and jiggly too.
My bras are too small, there is bulge everywhere.
My clothes continue to be a problem, I have just barely enough to dress myself for a week, not even taking into consideration fashion, just pure function. I am down to about 3 jackets and 3 pair of pants.
It’s a sad state of affairs…

I’ve been pretty much out of the picture the last week or so, Sarah, so I was glad to have a few minutes to find that you’re BACK (whoo hooo!) and catch up on what’s been going on with you.
I know that it’s easy to focus on the bad things but I always feel so much better when I can find the good. That’s not always easy but it really helps get me and keep me motivated. Buy those good organic fruits and veggies, stock up on tomato juice, burn the damn Vogue magazines! Turn a blind eye to the bad and work on boosting your confidence. You’re back and that’s a VERY good thing! Missed you, girl!

I feel you with the clothes, and yet I can’t bring myself to buy more clothes in my current size.
Just acknowledge where you’re at, but move on quickly. Experience tells most of us that dwelling on the negative only increases it. You’re getting back to work and that’s what’s most important.
Three cheers for back to the gym! (Don’t make me bust out the pom poms, but I know you can do this!)

Think of yourself as “temporarily voluptuous”.
Treat yourself to a few pretty new scarves ~ they’ll fit at any weight ~ to jazz up the outfits you have.
You’re gettin’ back on track!

How’s it going? Don’t forget us!

Wow, I have been off line and you have gone posting mad!! Now I need to catch up. First of all, those fashion magazines contain airbrushed 15 year olds. I now try to read MORE and other magazines that at least show older models.
Scary waitte..well we have all been there. Sometimes for longer than we want. But the good point about being scared is that is forces us to make changes. Consider it dynamite for waitte loss.
Cheers
Shari

I know how ya feel hon. Keep your chin up and know that with anything - it takes a lot to make it through this issue.
I’m struggling myself and feel lost. But it’s that discomfort that moves us into action.

I am with you on this. I felt like you were describing me to a T.
Like you and Anngirl I am stuggling as well, but trying to just take it one day at a time.
Hang in there..

I came to the conclusion that I am drinking entirely too many calories. I backed this up after 90 minutes of raking leaves in my jeans, I had major elastic/waistband indentions in my waist! It has been a LONG time since my elastic or waist band has left indentions. Tomorrow I get on the scale and start recording every drop that goes in my body!

I’ve been out of the picture for a while too. Due to some physical pain going on right now, exercise is out. I can’t even manage a brisk walk at the moment but hope that will be changing soon. (if you’re interested in what’s going on, check out my blog. If not, that’s good too.
) However, I have decided to starte eating healthier; small steps. You’re doing positive things, too; don’t forget that.

I agree with Susan! Temporarily voluptuous!! Just because you put on a few pounds does not warrant giving yourself an emotional beating. You are awesome!! Don’t forget that!!
Now go kiss & make up with your self esteem.
