What time is it?

SUMMER TIME!!!

If you are reading this and have kids who watch Disney, you’ll know that’s a line from a song in High School musical 2.  My kids have been singing it all week, and couldn’t wait for this afternoon to be able to sing it for real just like in the movie LOL!  So the first thing I asked each of them when they go home was What time is it?  They watch way too much disney.  I should say watched, because Disney no longer comes in on our tv.  We had been getting it through our cable line even though we weren’t supposed to, but it stopped the other day.  Probably for the best…..  So the summer vacation has officially started.  Today was  good.  As soon as the kids got home they wanted to go to the pool.  It was on the cool side of warm, if that makes any sense.  I decided what the heck, if they want to let’s go- but there was no way I was getting in the water!!!  It was freezing!  I put my toes in for a few seconds and that was it!  I need to get a new swim suit, but dread actually going to do it.  I did go to Kohls today, and tried on a few, but didn’t get one.  I have one that fits OK, but it is a bit on the loose side  (Yeah!!!).  It will do until I get another.

Round- if you read this thanks so much for your very kind comment yesterday! You are always so encouraging! You are right I need to focus on how much I have accomplished.  I have a lot to be proud of even if it’s not on the preconceived time table I had in the beginning.

I thought it might be helpful to myself if at about this half way point I made a list of things to be proud of so far to also help motivate me to reach my goal for the next 6 weeks and beyond

1) I went to the WW meeting and got started.  (I almost didn’t even go in at first.  I sat in the car and thought about just pulling back out and going home.)

2) I got through Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with a minimal weight gain

3) I can run up the stairs without getting winded.

4) Many of the clothes I wore last summer are loose now.

 5) A pair of jeans I bought about a month ago feels loose after wearing them for a little while!

6) I’ve stuck with it for 7 months!

7) I’ve lost over 28 lbs!!!!!

8) I enjoy playing with my kids outside now.  And I’m not as self concious about “jiggling” when I run.  One day soon I’m even thinking of replacing my walking exercise with jogging!

9)I’m eating better.

10) I’m seeing changes in my family because of the changes I’m making in me.  They are more aware of the foods they are eating and trying new things (sometimes) right along with me, and being more active.

OK that’s a nice even number to end with.  I’m sure there are many more I could come up with, and I will see many more things as I continue on the rest of this journey.
