Did pretty well at WW weigh in yesterday morning. I was down 1.2 lbs, bringing me to 180.6 for a total loss of 28.2 . Only .6 lbs until I’m in the 170’s!!! I can’t wait! I WILL get there this week! At the meeting the leader had us put down a goal for 6 weeks from now and then what needs to happen in order to achieve that goal. Here’s what I came up with.
In 6 weeks I want to lose 10 lbs. In order for this to happen, I need to
1) Eat right
2)Plan meal and shop accordingly. (Skip buying snacks that are not healthy just for the kids. They don’t need it, and I usually end up eating it anyway!)
3)Exercise at least 3 times a week, preferrably 5x.
4) Be more active overall in my daily life. (Lesse time on the TV and computer). Do projects around the house, take hikes/play with the kids etc)
5)Have a plan for week of vacation in STL in order to keep on plan.
6)Keep attending weekly meetings for accountability.
So, we’ll see how close I come to the goal. That’s about 1.6 lbs per week. I think it’s doable if I stay focused.
Kids have two more days of school, half days, and then they are out for the summer. Not sure I’m ready for it after the half day afternoon yesterday. Hopefully they are just excited and wound up because of the end of the school year. I’m glad I’m not a teacher. I can’t imagine an entire class of kids like that!
I started to plan out some meals for the next couple of weeks, until we leave for a vacation. I’m going to ask the kids for some suggestions this afternoon and work some of their ideas in to the plan. Since we will be staying with MIL and FIL on vacation, I’m not too worried about staying on plan. At least we won’t be eating out everday. And I learned a lesson last time we went for the weekend about what and what not to do to stay on plan.
When I first started weight watchers I thought i’d be at goal by now. I figured I’d be able to lose the above average healthy amount of 2 lbs per week and be a “free” lifetime member by now. I’m only about half way there, and I’ve had my ups and downs. It’s definitely been challenging at times. I just keep reminding myself that slow and steady wins the race! It might not be happening as fast as I thought or would like, but it is happening and one day I will get to the finish!

Funny how much of the success is in our perspective - I was reading along your post and from the beginning I was like “Geez, she is SUCH as success and inspiration, having lost almost 30 pounds, and almost being in the 170s! She started close to where I am and I can’t wait until I am as successful as she is.” … then i read the end of your post and see that you are NOT that happy with where you are because you have this “should have” timeline in your head. ARGH! Please see the success that you’ve had - not only the weight lost, but also the stick-to-it-ness and working through the challenges. In real life more people lose 1 pound a week than those who do the “official” 2 pounds - and it’s just fine, as is even slower. The important thing is that you stay on track, you’ll get to your goal in time.
In the meantime, BRAVO to you for all you’ve done so far!
