at least I hope that’s what’s happening. DD, age 14 was asking me questions about exercise over the weekend. I know they’ve been talking about nutrition and exercise in health class recently, so that along with what I’d like to think is my attempt at an example is leading her to changing some of her ways. She’s not terribly overweight. She’s like me though, and carries the extra weight she does have around her middle. She was asking me about my exercise videos, and we ended up doing a WATP 2 mile video together last night. We both agreed at the end though, that it was a little too easy, and we barely broke a sweat. I know I didn’t even get too winded at all. Yeah! Progress for me! I may need to get some more difficult fitness videos! My whole family could really move some more and probably shed a few pounds. Too much TV and computer and too many snacks are starting to show. I just thought of a Berentsain Bears book I used to read to the kids. CAn’t remember the name, but mother notices that brother and sister are growing wider more than tall, so the whole family begins to eat better and exercise more. I was thinking when the weather gets nicer, I’d like to do more outsided activities as a family. Not just taking a walk through the neighborhood, but check out some local parks and walking trails, and do more things together like that. Also thought about joining some place like the Y, but the closest ones, while not too terribly far, are far enough that I think the travel time too and from would make it too hard to fit into our schedule. There is a new community center that opened in a nearby town, that would only be about 15 minutes away. I may talk to dh about going to check it out. I’m just concerned that it might be rather crowded for a while since it just opened last week.
Didn’t do too well foodwise over the weekend. DD made brownies and I had a few too many. Then on Sunday we had pancake breakfast at church, and also had a late lunch out, so ended up quite a few points over for the week. I did exercise last night though, and again this morning. And my points reset today, so it’s a new week and a new beginning! My goal for the next couple of weeks is to reach my 10% goal. I’m 5 lbs. away now. I want to get to that before I reach my 16 weeks on weight watchers. I’d hate to get the 16 week charm and not have the keychain yet to put it on! I have 2 weeks to get it done. I know I can do it as long as I stay on track. I’ve shown myself it can be done, it’s just a matter of actually doing it!
