Today’s Totals - June 17th, 2009

Nothing really exciting today went on.  I walked on my own this morning, a nice low energy walk.  Well, the low energy part wasn’t good, but I made a point not to push it.  Baked bread, made the brine for the turkey (and put it in) - that’s really about it.  We’re likely going to pop down to Vineland tomorrow and get some frozen cherries, apricots, and some sour cherry concentrate.  I’m going to try adding the concentrate to my post WO shakes, instead of the actual cherries.  That way I can use the frozen cherries for fruit salad… until we have fresh cherries (will check on them when we’re there).

Food for the day:

Total: 2008 calories (25% fat, 34% protein, 38% carbs, 3% alcohol)

Breakfast: egg/egg white omelet with cheese, cracked wheat oatmeal bread, jam, orange (376)
AM Snack: citrus bread, butter (102)
Lunch: beef mushroom barley soup, parmesan cheese roll, apple (446)
PM Snack: hummus, flatbread, pisco sour (321)
Dinner: chicken with tomato sauce & cheese, mixed veg, butter, salad w/dressing (487)
Evening Snack: fruit salad, protein shake (276)

June 16th - workout and food

Fat Loss II - B2

I’m playing catch-up from yesterday. This was done before lunch. I did a 5-min cardio warm-up outside, followed by a few inside warm-ups, then did:

A1: Snatch-grip Deadlift - 70t/12, 70t/12, 70t/12
A2: Push-ups (regular, not T) - 12, 12, 12
B1: Bulgarian Split Squat with Overhead Press - 5e/12, 5e/12, 5e/12
B2: Assisted Chin-up - 12, 12, 12
C1: Romanian Deadlift / Bent-over Row - 70t/12, 70t/12, 70t/12
C2: Lower Body Russian Twist - 12, 12, 12

Then warm-up, 4 rounds intervals (1m high, 2m moderate) and cool-down. I definitely had a rough time with the intervals.

65 mins, 483 cals, Max HR: 172 (97%), Avg HR: 129 (73%)

Still struggling with the Split Squats and the Russian Twist.

Yesterday was busy, but I think I hit a wall physically. I walked in the morning, followed with a workout, vacuumed the pool and then spent a part of the afternoon taking about half the willow tree down. While swimming in the afternoon I realized little to no energy.

AM Snack: beef jerky (108)
Lunch: beef mushroom barley soup, parmesan cheese roll, apple (446)
PWO Snack: protein shake with sour cherries (281)
PM Snack: hummus, flatbread (231)
Dinner: chili with cheese, tostidos, salad w/dressing (704)
Evening Snack: fruit salad, chocolate zucchini cake (174)

Today’s Adventures in Baking…

I’ll be back to post more after I have lunch, but thought I’d share today’s bread. I don’t usually share the recipes for my high-protein bread baking attempts. Mainly because they don’t usually turn out as well. (I think I’m getting better at it.) This is meant to be a lemon loaf, but I use mixed dried peel. For the purposes of the calorie count I used 3oz of raw peel. What I do is peel oranges, lemons, and/or grapefruit - bring to a boil in water, then dehydrate them. The original recipe called simply for peel.

Citrus Loaf

Total calories: 2737 cals, 29% protein, 9% fat, 62% carbs
per ounce: 68 cals, 5g protein, .67g fat, 10.5g carbs

I had the end piece with a little butter for my morning snack, but it will be a great breakfast toast with a little jam.

Recipe here (with my rambling comments)
