This morning I finished off the stock, poured it over the meat and have in freezing at the moment. Then in the concept of cleaning my room upstairs (a never-ending task) started going through the dresser. My sometimes in a hurry clean-up involves shoving things into a drawer. I started with a box of assorted jewelry and things degraded from there. There was a small pile on the other dresser as well, so I decided to sort through them. For someone who almost never wears the stuff I seem to have a lot of it.
So an hour later I have the jewelry all sorted out, but I’m not sure that I made much headway in cleaning out the drawers. In fact, come to think of it, I’m not even sure I finished cleaning out the drawer I started in. I was showing someone else on another site what I ended up with, so I figured I might as well share it here. At the moment, this is what I have for most of the hanging stuff (some of the finer stuff in a drawer):
And this is for earrings and pins:
I swear, I haven’t worn the green and black ones there since the 80s! Now I just have to make a point to put some of it on every now and then. I put the hooks up probably the year we moved in here, likely from Ikea. We were pretty much regular visitors at the time.
I was looking at the calories burned for the last few walks. In the end I’ve decided that I kind of like walking on my own the best. For me, that’s a shock because exercising in public is honestly something I never really wanted to do. However, looking at the walks I’ve done over the last week:
Fri (with neighbour): 375 cals
Mon (with mother): 291 cals
Tue (with mother): 368 cals
Wed (on my own): 425 cals
Thu (on my own): 411 cals
Now, to be fair, on Monday I had heel pain about 6 or 7 mins in, so I didn’t do any jogging. It had faded to a dull ache by the time we got home so I did the extra ~15 mins (usually the route I do with my mother is shorter, so I make it up to 45 most mornings going in circles around the pool). So I do tend to push myself a little harder when I’m on my own. Although I think it’s just that my natural pace is about 10% faster than my mother’s, so I just burn a little more. Doesn’t matter though, as long as she wants to go with me she’s welcome.
Nothing much else for the rest of the day. The weather was lovely though in the afternoon during our swim. Okay, it could have been warmer, but no wind at all. Because of the sun the temp in the pool was a little higher than normal, so it made it lovely. So, tomorrow morning the walk will be down by the lakeshore, with or without my mother. I’m assuming that she’s going, but who knows.
