Today’s Totals - June 1st, 2009

I did manage to get out of bed this morning and walk. I know I was awake after 1am, but probably was asleep by 2am. But, 5-1/2 hours sleep is at least 2 hours shy of what I’ve been getting. I can already tell I’m not well rested. I trimmed some of the trees at the back, and then it started raining. So, off to Home Depot we go so I can get 4 bags of pine bark mulch. That would be:

- climb over the crap in front of it and toss down 4 bags
- lift onto rolling flat
- lift into truck
- lift out of truck and carry to four spots in the backyard

None of these would have been a bad thing, except, it’s raining out and they’re WET! I really shouldn’t complain because at the house we used to live in it would be at least 10 bags for a spring top up. I’m thinking perhaps a quiet afternoon is in order (it’s still raining so I can’t spread the mulch). Other than perhaps some stuff on the computer, I don’t know what I can do this afternoon. Wow, there’s a shock.

So the weather dried up enough that I went out and spread the mulch.  Of course, as I suspected when carrying them in today, I didn’t get enough.  I probably need somewhere between another 4 or 6 bags (so I’ll likely split the difference and get 5).  I don’t think we put any down last year, which is why it’s so bad.  Nothing much to add for the rest of the day, just dinner and now I’m off to bed.  I meant to do a ‘May wrap-up’ but just forgot to get it done, so I’ll post that tomorrow.
