Today’s Totals - May 18th, 2009

I’m not sure why but I was completely wiped out today.  I don’t think it was the sitting in the cold for 5 hours, but who knows.  I’d already told my mother that I would be walking in the morning (holiday Mondays aren’t an excuse when you’re not working).  She decided to come along though, and it’s a good thing.  If she hadn’t been going I might have talked myself out of it.  Probably not though.  On the days when I don’t do my strength training I make a point to do 45 mins (the last 15 usually on my own).  I made a point to keep track and I’m doing about 10% jogging, based on time.  That’s enough for now, but just making a point to see how I’m doing.

I did a little yard work in the morning, but it really was still pretty cold out.  It’s to warm up tomorrow, so that will make it easier to get stuff done.  Had lunch, did a few things inside, then had a swim.  Just a regular day, but really quite cool out - and windy.  I’m posting my food now as I think I’m going to try and make it an early evening.  Well, not quite this early, but if I’m sleepy later I won’t likely come back to the computer.

Totals - May 17th, 2009

I wasn’t that late home last night, but decided that I should just try and get to sleep.  The fireworks were nice, probably well over a thousand dollars worth.  Everyone brings something, and like us, tends to bring one big one, which makes for a good display.  It was pretty cold though.  I had on:

thin socks, covered by thick socks
silk long underwear, pants, long-sleeved shirt
padded vest, winter coat

And there were times I was still a bit chilly.  Once the wind died down at sunset it wasn’t too bad though.  I think the food was okay.  I’d pretty much planned for what I knew she would serve.  I avoided the bowls of candy, told the husband not to put the doritos bowl in front of me, and didn’t partake of the birthday cake.  I was surprised that I was actually down a smidge this morning, since yesterday was a lifting day (and I’m usually up after them).  Of course I’m now post-period and I usually see some water loss at the end of it.  We’ll see how the rest of the week goes.
