Today’s Totals - Dec 17th, 2008

Well, sitting at the desk made a big difference in the calories burned today. Although, I admit I’m estimating low calories for the time I have the strap off at night. However, I did that yesterday as well and the calories burned are almost 400 different. And they probably got a boost from the fact that I went out and shoveled a small amount of snow before dinner. Not the driveway or the walkway, but where the city plowed us in. I’m going to switch my lifting day to Friday, and I’m not even sure I’ll get on the treadmill tomorrow (but I will try).

So, in the morning tomorrow I’m off to run errands, and then help my mother get ready for her party. Although I’ll probably not stay upstairs, so I could come down and use the treadmill then. I’ve also decided to just be patient and keep checking the turkey in the fridge outside (still not thawed). I wasn’t entirely sure that I could do cold water thawing and then brine it as everything I read says to cook it right away. So, I will try and be more patient. :)

From the HR monitor (TM only):

30 mins, Cals: 234, Max HR: 149 (84%), Avg HR: 137 (77%)

Food for today:

Total: 2014 (27% fat, 40% carbs, 31% protein)

Breakfast: egg/egg white omelet, honey oatmeal bread, jam, clementines (337)
AM Snack: protein shake (180)
Lunch: whole wheat pasta with turkey sausage sauce, apple (494)
PM Snack: hummus, carrots, white chocolate almond/cherry bark* (222)
Dinner: corned beef & cabbage, butter, salad w/dressing (505)

* It’s really sad actually. I was planning to have a cookie during the afternoon but decided to have a piece of the white chocolate bark. It was easy to work out as I knew what I’d put in it and the ingredients added up to 2-lbs. So, I snapped off my very small piece, weighed it, and it was 0.30 oz - this was 44 cals! I ate it anyways, but really.
