Today’s Totals - Dec 15th, 2008

So, I did some canning today (14 pints of tomato sauce).  It’s just for the grab and go kind of sauce that I would use for say pizza, and the cabbage rolls we’ve talked about making.  I also made a point to put the treadmill down and do 30 mins on it.  My plan is to do this every day (except lifting ones) until I’m back at school.  Primarily because I know I have a tendency to be a bit of a slug in the winter.

Okay, I know - I canned tomato sauce today, and made white chocolate/almond/cherry bark for my mother.  But really, I do tend to want to do nothing.  It just doesn’t work out all that well sometimes.  Tomorrow I’m either having a friend over for dinner (or going out with two of them), plans to be determined after lunch.  I’ll do the Costco run in the morning and continue cleaning up around the desk.  You can actually see the top of the desk in places now.  And the mess that was on one of the shelves against the wall is also gone.

Oh, and I wore the HR monitor for 24-hours, just for fun.  It didn’t start that way.  I really only put it on last night to get a feel for what it said when I was watching television and such… then dozed off with it on.  So, when I woke up in the middle of the night I just decided to leave it on.  The only real problem is that I didn’t break it down enough to get a feel for what activities burn what amounts.  ie. during the hours of 3pm and 10pm I burned 1167 calories (Max HR: 137, Avg HR: 79).  I was finishing up the tomato sauce, ran up and down the stairs a couple of times getting supplies, made dinner, ate dinner, watched TV, worked at the desk, etc.  In the end, I got a total calories burned of 3824, which I think is high.  Although the canning took more time / effort than I probably think.  I’m not going to sleep in it again, but I’ll probably wear it during waking hours for at least the rest of the week (just for interest).
