Today’s Totals - Dec 11th, 2008
(trying a complete ‘no plan’ week, so anything goes - this is technically a maintenance week)
So, it’s official, the baking is done. My mother did hers today and I made a batch of something else. So between us we did 56 dozen cookies. They really are small though. I heaped almost 3 dozen on a small disposable plate and it went across the street to one of the neighbours. I didn’t count them, but I boxed up another probably 8 dozen (perhaps a few more) to take with my tomorrow to school. Although I really don’t think that cookies go with beer. They guys say that pretty much anything goes with beer.
So, I’m now going in early to help not one, but two people with last minute panic. I should have collected a quarter each today from answering the same question for today’s exam. It was one of those things that the teacher said ‘you need to be able to draw this’ on the final, but never actually went through it. Oh well, only one exam left and then we’re done for the semester.
I also got my schedule for next semester picked out. Although it may change it will be:
Mon: 9am - 5pm (1pm-2pm free)
Tue: no classes (yay, I managed to get it)
Wed: 8am - 5pm (9:30-10am, 12pm-3pm free)
Thu: 12pm - 5pm (9:30-12pm, 1pm-1:30pm, 3pm-4pm free)
Fri: 8am - 4pm (10am - 3pm free)
There was probably a slightly better schedule, but it was 2 hours on Monday morning and 3 hours on Tuesday afternoon. I decided that once again, I’d rather have the day off instead. What it does mean is that I have some bigger blocks of empty time. So, I’m thinking Tues/Thurs/Sun for lifting and there’s no excuse for not doing cardio at the school on Friday and maybe even Wed. That leaves Mon/Sat for rest days.
Oh, and I have to pick an elective. I know some of the guys picked the course taught by our Communications teacher, but it’s about video games and online communities. I wavered, and eventually went with:
Creative Thinking - “Today’s workplace is built on teamwork, flexibility and collaboration. This course develops thinking skills that many traditional business processes based on efficiency, logic, and control can’t achieve. It enables students to use their full range of human abilities, from the logical, to the intuitive, to the interactive. Students will develop skills in decision making, communication, creativity and leadership by employing artistic processes such as improvisation, performance, visual media. Creative Thinking puts art back into business. It gives students transformative skills - the ability to evolve along with a rapidly changing world.”
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I don’t hate it.
So, that’s me for the night. I’m hoping to get caught up on the weekend a little. I’ve had pretty much tunnel vision the last couple of weeks. It will be nice to do something other than school work for a couple of weeks.
