Today’s Totals - Dec 8th, 2008
Well, one day down, four more to go. I’m getting a little pressure about going out now on Friday night. I made the mistake about talking about getting drunk on Saturday night (kidding, but the party is across the street, so I don’t have to worry about driving home). I know that some of them really want to get into it, which I’d love to do… except for the drive home. In the past I’d just book into a hotel and not worry about it. I just looked, and the cheapest is in the $80-90 range, just out of my league at the moment. So, I’ll either just have a drink or two and come home, or stop drinking and enjoy myself sober. I know me though, I enjoy having a few more, so coming home early is probably a better idea.
So today was a weird food day. I had breakfast at a reasonable hour, and lunch a little early. I’d packed a dinner to have after the first or second test and then figured I’d maybe buy something at the school. So I broke down and had poutine for my afternoon snack. Okay, then I had to get a diet coke to settle my stomach. Normally I’d try a ginger ale, but I really don’t like sugared soft drinks (never did). The coke did the trick though and I had the dinner after the second test. I did restrain myself from eating the two pieces of chocolate zucchini cake (brought them home). Then I went into the grocery store to pick up a few things and, ummm, I swear the cherry garcia just jumped into the cart. I actually went looking for the frozen sorbet/yogurt swirls, but they don’t seem to stock them anymore. So yes, my evening snack was 1000 calories of ice cream (ouch). In the end the overall calories weren’t that bad (since I mentally go with 3000-3500 as a range), but boy were the macros out of whack.
Oh, and the good thing is that the food scale got over its freak out from yesterday and is working. I think I got it slightly wet, so now I don’t think I need a new one.

Lunch: turkey sausage sauce with whole wheat pasta and parmesan cheese, apple (711)
PM Snack: poutine (630)
Dinner: whole wheat tortillas, smoked beef, mustard (372)
Late Snack: cherry garcia ice cream (1000)
Now… slightly sick to my stomach… I’m off to bed!
