Today’s Totals - Dec 7th, 2008

So, I basically had a studying day.  And I still feel like I’m not as prepared as I should be for the 2nd exam tomorrow.  I’ll go over the metal deformation stuff again tomorrow morning, and take my chances on the Communications final.  So, I’ll just add my food and then it’s off to bed I go.

Oh, and my food scale decided to go slightly nuts today.  I guess it’s in need of a break as well.  I thought it was just the batteries, but I think perhaps it’s time for a new one.  So, since I’ve got a Bed, Bath & Beyond coupon around I’ll likely go buy one on Wednesday.  Since next week I’ll need that accuracy.  So today’s numbers are definitely a ‘by eye’ estimation.

Food for the day: (some estimation in numbers)

Total: 3124 (28% fat, 33% carbs, 37% protein)

Breakfast: bacon and eggs, lemon ginger pecan bread, jam, clementines (688)
AM Snack: protein shake (210)
Lunch: meat sauce with whole wheat pasta and parmesan cheese, apple, ruffles chips (874)
PM Snack: protein shake with frozen sour cherries, chocolate zucchini bread (451)
Dinner: sirloin steak, corn, butter, salad w/dressing (652)
Late Snack: orange, protein shake (285)

Total time: 75 mins
HR monitor: 479 cals, Max: 153 (88%), Avg: 123 (69%)

Well that was a pretty nice workout. With it going up to 4×5 I’m being a little more cautious with the weights. Although on the deadlifts the best I had done was 2×160, so there’s definitely some benefit to lifting while not on a deficit. I think I’m about maxed out on the push press weight for the moment, although the next time I’ll try pushing up the weight on the last set. The dumbbell row seemed easier than I thought (having read the book), so I’ll need to go up in weight for the next set by a bit. Oh, and I definitely am dropping the windshield wipers, they just hurt my back/tailbone way too much. I’ll substitute something else in the next workout.

Now… back to the studying. I think I’m okay on milling, but now I need to look at wire drawing and cold and hot rolling. At least I have some background in metal forming, so that does (perhaps) help.
