Today’s Totals - Oct 13th, 2008

Well, I managed to get everything done with the exception of the stakes in the garden. I’ve left that for Wed (although will have to work around the pool guy). I still don’t feel well-prepared for my test, but will review the notes again tomorrow after doing some walking during the 5-hr break I have.

The CAD teacher has been a busy marking our 2nd batch of assignments which I (thankfully) have done better on. My average for the 5 now is 73%, which is much better than 45% for the first two. :P From what I can tell the 7 assignments (two to come) are worth 25%, and the computerized drawings another 25%. Then there is an exam at the end worth 25% on the theory and some time of final test on the computer for the remaining 25%. So, at the moment, I feel better about how I’m doing.

And, it’s just past 8:30 and I’m really going to change and lay down shortly, before 9pm for sure. It may take a while to get to sleep, but at least I’ll be resting.

Food for the day:

Total: 2305 (23% fat, 41% carbs, 31% protein)

Breakfast: two fried eggs, zucchini bread, jam (276)
AM Snack: protein shake, fruit salad (290)
Lunch: whole wheat pasta with meat sauce and parmesan cheese, apple (594)
PM Snack: hummus, carrots, pisco sour (269)
Dinner: chili with cheese, multi-grain tostidos, salad w/dressing (629)
Late Snack: fruit salad, protein shake (248)

Today’s workout started out good, but ended up feeling mediocre. I think I put so much into the db snatches at the start that I just didn’t have the enthusiasm to follow through. Actually that’s probably not true. I’m feeling a little overwhelmed today. I’m on my third day of a long weekend and still have a lot of stuff to do but just don’t feel like doing most of it. I suspect some of it is concern about the test tomorrow night. I feel I should spend more time studying but can’t settle to it.

So it’s after 1pm already and I have to:

- vacuum the pool/have a swim (closing it Wed)
- pound in a couple of stakes into the garden (before the ground freezes)
- go over the meat from the stock so the bones can go out in the garbage tonight
- get the stock cooled so that the fat can go out in the garbage
- vacuum the downstairs
- plan lunch/dinner for tomorrow as I won’t be home for either
- get lunch/dinner stuff as prepared as I can before bed
- get to bed by 9:30ish as I need to be up at 6am
- review notes again, try and fix formulas in my head

Sigh…. and make lunch/dinner somewhere in there as well. I should have probably left the turkey for another weekend. Oh well, too late to say that now, isn’t it?  :)

Oh yes - get next set of sheets ready for Wed morning’s workout.  I can probably leave that until tomorrow night, but would love to go through it and change a couple of the moves.  I don’t think I’m capable of getting more weight up on the one-arm dumbbell snatch.
