Today’s totals - Jan 21st, 2008

Exercise - 90 minutes on the treadmill (3 x 30 mins at 2mph)

Water - 14 cups

Food - 1914 calories (25% fat, 49% carbs, 23% protein)

Breakfast - protein shake, 3 clementines (159)

Lunch - navy bean soup, apple, fruit salad (508)

Dinner - roasted tomato pasta, salad, balsamic dressing (621)

Snacks - protein shake (x2), apple, fruit salad, cheese spread with rice crisps (626)

The soup is made, although I’ll have to put some of it in to freeze before I go to bed. I’ve already brought my snacks downstairs (that way I’m not portioning anything out late at night). Such an exciting day. I think I’m getting a little stir crazy being inside so much. I was going to spend some time doing an exercise DVD this afternoon. At the time I was tired, but now I seem to have way too much energy for this time of night.

greeneggsandtam - I only made one (rather big) pot of soup today. It’s basically the same recipe, just using different beans as I try and use them up.

justdeb - thanks, slow and steady, that’s (for me) the best way to do it.

Another Monday

Well, it’s officially the weigh-in day, even though I’ve been both a pound heavier and a pound lighter in the last 48 hours. In the end it doesn’t actually matter, so the number for this week is 341.8 - which means that I’m 3 pounds lighter than last Monday. That’s good enough for me!

I started making soup this morning, between two 30 minute sessions on the treadmill. The first time I made it (a couple of months ago) I think it was black-eyed pea soup, then it was navy bean soup, this time it’s going to be lima bean and great northern bean soup. Can you tell that I’m slowly using up all of the dried beans that we’ve had around for a long time? It’s one of those really cold, but sunny, days. You feel like you should be outside, but it’s way to cold to be out there. I kind of envy the cats. One of them was curled up in the sun streaming through the dining room window this morning. I was kind of tempted to join him. Of course I’d have to move the dining room table out of the way…

mizu - I started tracking water after I realized that my weight was fluctuating because of it. One day I would drink almost nothing and be down as much as two pounds, then the next day I would drink more and I’d be up three. So I’ve tried to track how much I have each day. It’s probably not always perfect, but it’s close.
