It’s actually pretty sad that I’m breaking a sweat cleaning. Okay, the treadmill is heavy, but still. I realized that most of the time I clean up I do it without a lot of effort. I think that’s something else I need to work on. Anyway, it was a good day overall. Pretty damn cold out at the barbecue, but spring is coming. Ha ha - more like in a couple or three months.

justdeb - I know FitDay has a category for cleaning, but I think I’ll avoid using it for now. I don’t want to give myself any excuses to not use the treadmill. ;-)

bloomer - I’m not always this good, but I decided as long as I’m home (unemployed) I need to do something. It’s so cold outside that I’d be doing nothing else, if not for the treadmill. Tomorrow I’m going to do some cooking (soup) as well.

mizu - probably more than the last circuit (just a nice gentle walk), definitely!

Counting exercise

Can dragging a 250lb treadmill around the basement count as exercise? I knew the other day when I was oiling the deck that I wasn’t getting any on the left side of the machine. It’s a fold-up model, but when it’s down it’s pretty close to the wall. So today I decided I really should have done the job properly so I dragged it partly into the middle of the room. It’s supposed to wheel around once you tilt it about 45 degrees. Of course the mat it was on started coming with it. And then there was the dust/dirt on the mat. I roped my mother into helping (in holding the mat) but by the time I was done I’d definitely worked up a sweat. Now I’m looking at doing 60 more minutes to hit my 90. Well, at least 30 for now, then we’ll see.

Okay, another 30 down. At 4:30 I will do another 30 minutes, but I think it will just be a nice, calm walk (ie. no inclines).

And I’m done! It was so tempting to say that I wouldn’t do the last 30 minutes, but I kept at it. I know eventually I’ll probably only do it 6 days a week, but I figure (barring pain) that I should go at least 30 days before I do so. Otherwise I can see 6 days becoming 5 and such.

leanmoomercows - I think it only shows that I need to be more fit. 30 minutes of moving furniture and using the vacuum shouldn’t raise that much of a sweat. Just shows how rarely I actually vacuum under the furniture….
