Just breathe…

I cannot believe the week that I am having on my “week off”!!  I thought getting BE raisers was going to be a problem since I don’t have my sunshine dog until next week…remember, I decided to do some planning…get some stuff done that I had been putting off!

First things first, DHs MRI was CLEAN!!!   We are feeling fabulous!!!  I have gotten to spend a lot of extra time with him this week going to his appts… having lunch…goofing off…it has been fabulous!  Everything is going really well with him and I am so so so grateful!!!  I had planned to go to lunch with a friend this week but I had sent her an email and didn’t get a response, I figured she was just busy…guess who we ran into heading to DHs radio-oncology appt!!! Talk about coincidence!!!  Had a lovely visit…we are going to try to set something up soon.

Then…I made my appt to have my cholesterol levels checked.  I hadn’t done it since before his diagnosis, the last records I have were from 2006 shortly before we had moved here.  I had been on BC pills for fibroids and when they checked my levels my numbers were very high and climbing…specifically my triglycerides.  Well, since doing my new food plan for 10 months or so I was curious what my levels would be!  So I did the test on Monday…yeah..I realize exactly how dependent I am on breakfast!  Everything felt like it was in my face!!! Unbelievable!  Even pushing it to 45 mins has an effect…I did that this week too,I had to get ready to go to more appts and had some extra things to do…won’t happen again…don’t care what I have to do, breakfast within 30 MINS REQUIRED!!!! Anyway I got the results back! I am so excited!!!  My doc gave me an A+  :h7)  *drumroll please* Cholesterol: 177!!!  HDL: 69 LDL: 95 Triglycerides….wait for it…wait for it…65!!!!!! 65!!!  Can you believe it????  I think my last test I have results for my Trigs were 225 or so…and my cholesterol was 190 but my HDL was only like 51 or something!  I am so happy with this!!! I have never had numbers like these!!!   :h11) Oh, did I mention blood sugar? No?  lol  82!!!

Get ready for your morning comic relief! Okay, I am sitting at my computer, talking to my Dad on speakerphone…birds are squabbling in the back yard because we filled the feeder yesterday…when I see movement out of the corner of my eye..a flash of orange!  It was a cat!  Near my precious birds!! (Now, let me caveat this with, I adore cats, I had the best cat in the world when I was growing up and I love love love them!!! Just not when I am feeding the birds and feel that since I am drawing them in to eat they should have some level of protection!!!) So, I see the cat, start yelling through my screen door and run out to scare it off.  Mind you, some of the birds didn’t even leave the feeder!!!  The cat tries to climb the fence, can’t…too fat…and ends up in our thick ivy vines meowing pitifully.. I run at it waving my arms and yelling, it crosses the yard and tries again to climb the fence…falls again…  Now, I just wasn’t thinking, I should have closed the screen door when I went out…but no…it saw the open door and ran right in!  Now I have this strange cat in my house!  Both DH & DD are allergic and I have my Dad on the phone going “ARE YOU OK?  ARE YOU STILL THERE!”  I’m like “Yeah Dad, I have a cat problem!!!”  Meanwhile the cat booked it up the stairs and into our bedroom!  It was trying to get under the bed!  I say trying because it’s whole back end was still hanging out!  A) because our bed is pretty low to begin with and had a bunch of stuff under it already and B)it was too fat!!!  Okay, so I grab it’s tail and try to think what to do!  Luckily it wasn’t a mean cat and I could pull it out…and it didn’t attack me! Whew, so I am carrying down the stairs…at this point feeling a little sorry for it because it was just laying there limp over my hand.  I take it out the front gate and put it down, trying to run it off!  It won’t move!  And! It was trying to get BACK into my yard where again…I had foolishly not thought to close the back screen door when I went out! Now, my neighbor had her golden retriever on a leash across the street but wasn’t holding the leash, we were actually set to go walking around the neighborhood in a couple of minutes…Dasha (the dog who I have babysat and walked numerous times) saw me yelling at the cat and raced over to “save me from the cat” :)  She chased it off finally…didn’t hurt it , her owner was yelling, but it booked it into someone else’s yard!!! Could not believe it!!!  So, there ya go…how was your day???
