About Me:

I’m a former dancer who has struggled with my weight for my entire life.  Around the age of 13 I got into some serious emotional eating to deal with my life, and packed on the pounds.  By 14 I was up to 180 lbs and was pretty miserable.  Over the years I’ve tried a million different things to lose weight. I’ve yo-yoed over the years, usually between 170-180. A few years ago I started running and got down to 164, but was injured in a bad accident that prevented me from being active for years.

My wake-up call came in January 2009 when I tried on a suit that had been lose on me the last time I wore it. It was skin-tight and I could barely do up the pants. That day, I called my best friend who had expressed interest in joining Weight Watchers to lose 20 pounds or so, and I told her I was ready to do it.  The next day we went to our first meeting and I decided that this was the last time I was going to “try to lose weight”. This time I’m going to do it, and get back to enjoying my life.

I started WW at 187 lbs. Over the first 4 months I lost approximately 15 lbs. In May 2009, my job took me to a different city, where I spent the summer living in a hotel. As a result of eating in restaurants all summer, I gained 8 lbs in 2 months. As of September 2009, I’m back to 177 lbs. I wouldn’t say that I stopped the program, but rather that I didn’t have much control over my life. In any event, I’ve gone back to my regular WW meeting, and so I’m starting from scratch once more.

I have 32 lbs to lose to reach a healthy weight.  This will put me at 146 (I’m 5′4″).  My personal goal is 125.
