Still Feeling Guilty

Posted by: phisigamber In: Uncategorized

Ahh. This weekend was pitiful. Well, not the whole weekend…but Saturday was pretty bad. Biscuits and gravy for breakfast, ham sandwich for lunch, and margherita flatbread pizza from BJ’s for dinner. On the upside, I was able to control my portion size (2 biscuits/gravy and 1/2 of the personal pizza). I still felt horribly guilty, not to mention the fact that I ended up feeling sick. At 11 o’clock, just as Brian and I were turning in for the night, I hopped out of bed and threw on some tennis shoes. I went downstairs and worked for 30-40 minutes, then crawled into bed. I just couldn’t stand the thought of all of that food sitting on my stomach with no real exercise to compensate for it.

Anyway…live and let go, right?

I have an appointment to meet with a personal trainer on Wednesday. I’m hoping to start up a gym membership and get in a few training sessions before the end of the month. My problem has always been keeping the motivation alive. This will be my third time joining In Shape, and although I like the club, I never stick with it! It’s been about 3 years since I’ve belonged to a gym, so I’m hoping that this time things will be different.

That’s all for tonight. Good luck to all of you lovely ladies out there! Your stories have been a real inspiration to me. :)

TGIF

Ok, so I’ve totally been slacking on the blog. Sorry, folks.

Anyway…I’ve still been eating well, so I’m proud of that. I was even able to turn down breadsticks from The Olive Garden. That may not seem like a big deal, but believe me…last month I would have devoured the entire basket. I’ve been eating 3 small meals a day with a healthy snack inbetween breakfast and lunch, and another between lunch and dinner. So far, so good. Because of the snack between each meal, I never feel starved, so I’m better able to control my cravings.

On the other hand, I haven’t been working out as often as I should. Last night I totally skipped out on my walk, so I decided to amp up my cleaning routine. I put in my headphones and danced while I cleaned the kitchen and did laundry. As ridiculous as I may have looked, it was actually fun. Nothing wrong with killing two birds with one stone, right?

This weekend is my boyfriend’s birthday. I’m really hoping that I don’t fall off the wagon. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Two days down, rest of life to go

Posted by: phisigamber In: Uncategorized

Today’s Menu

Breakfast: Slimfast Chocolate Shake (mmm! If you’ve never tried them, they’re actually delish)

Mid-morning snack: Fuji apple

Lunch: Ham & Turkey sandwich on low-carb wheat bread with light mayo, mustard, and lettuce; 100 calorie pack of Cheez-its

Mid-afternoon snack: 1 serving low-fat cottage cheese

Dinner: Oven-roasted turkey breast; 1 serving green beens (canned); salad (lettuce, cucumber, red & green bell peppers, cheese, 1 tbsp Peppercorn Ranch dressing)

And LOTS of water…

I’m really trying to limit my intake of diet soda, but this water thing is more work than I expected. It’s like extreme endurance training for my bladder. Anyway…I DID manage to drink 7 glasses of water today :) (In case you’re wondering, that’s 7 more than my normal 0). Yay!

Tomorrow I plan to get some measurements, so I’ll be updating my profile. Still not sure that I’m 100% comfortable with sharing that kind of information, but I think it will be good motivation for me.

Ok, that’s all for me tonight…going to bed hungry, but still feeling strong.

Hello all :)

What can I say? I’ve never been the “Dear Diary” type of girl. However, I’m hoping that this blog will help me stay accountable (at very least, to myself). I am actually feeling strangely excited about the whole thing.

Anyway…still have tons of work to do, but I promise to write more when I get a chance.
