Just another Monday

Today is the first day of DIL’s new arrangements (if there are any) for the kids.  I told her last Wednesday that DS is working and won’t be able to pick up the kids from school anymore.  Told her DH and I would see that they were picked up and keep them until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday but she’d have to make other arrangements after that.  Haven’t heard from her since then.

DS called the caseworker and told him he was working.  Everyone has been notified but DS and I are still nervous.  I asked him…”What’s the worst that can happen?”  She doesn’t make any arrangements.  No one picks up the kids and the school calls her at 4:30 because no one has picked them up.  She has to take off work and go get them.  DS is still nervous because he seems to get blamed for everything else but I don’t see how this can come back on him.  I told her.  He told the caseworker.  She hasn’t called or left any messages.  Guess we’ll see.

I can see where you’re hesitant to trust her or the system, though. Hopefully, YOU’RE not the one who ends up getting called.

I really hope that today is the start of a new beginning for you. You need a break. I’m so glad to hear the DS found a job. Things bottomed out there for a bit, but now they’re back on their way up! Glass half full - positive thinking!! Fall is going to be YOUR time - fabulous! Time for cute outfits and new goals! You go, girl!

Hope it all works out- what can they say? I’d be pissed if they tried to talk crap if I were your DS- I’d be like I was working- do you want me to lose my job so you find another excuse to call me a deadbeat father? Then I’d tell them go F themselves. :D

And I mean that in the nicest way. The system is really disappointing me lately.

I’m not sure if I want her to remember to get the kids or hope she forgets. Keep us posted.

You are doing the right thing. You are not allowing her to manipulate all of you and force you to all bend to her will. Man alive I have NEVER heard of such a self indulgent so called mother who would do this. You all did the right thing. This will force her to parent up or give up custody.
