Today is Nerd Day.  Shouldn’t be too hard to dress for that.  Find a couple of hairpins, a plaid skirt, socks and tennis shoes.  Use a pair of those big, Dollar Tree glasses.  And, considering that it’s still raining, that should just enhance the look.

Got some bad news yesterday.  ESS (Extended School Services) provides for extra tutoring for students who are failing classes.  We work with small groups of kids, usually 6 to 8, after school a couple of times a week to help them get back on track.  I do ESS for an hour and a half on Wednesdays and Fridays after school.  Got the word yesterday that the funding was cut by 40%.  Now the teachers are going to have to work with larger groups, cut the time to 1 hour once a week and it will only run for 3 weeks out of each six week grading period instead of six.  That means my little “bonus” pay just dropped from 3 hours per week to one and I’ll be working with ten to twelve kids.  Oh, wait, it’s less than that because I will only be doing it in three week intervals instead of six.  I guess my bonus just went from 3 hours each week to 30 minutes.  And the cuts just keep coming.

Crap…the cat just threw up.
