Dress Up Day

It remains to be seen…if I’ll dress up.  This is homecoming week at school.  Monday was jeans and school tee shirt.  Yesterday was “your favorite decade” and today is dress up day.  I’m cold and it’s been raining since yesterday evening.  I don’t really feel like dressing up and then wading out to the car while trying to keep an umbrella from inverting in the wind and blowing away.  Thunderstorms and dress up do not go together.  In fact, the satellite signal went out around 7:30 and didn’t come back on all evening.  I missed Hell’s Kitchen and The First 48.  Boo!  I guess we’re going to have to have a service call.  We lose the signal everytime it rains and a lot of times when it doesn’t.  I suspect it’s the neighbor’s tree but I don’t know what we can do about it.  Finally gave up and went to bed at 9:30.

Got the doctor thing over with.  All the parts seem to be in the right places.  Mammogram, pap smear, blood work.  I’m supposed to go back in a couple of weeks for a bone density scan.

I didn’t sleep well.  I felt cold all night.  No reason for me to be cold but I was anyway.  I pulled a blanket on the bed and woke up feeling hot and stuffy.  Took the blanket off and woke up cold.  Turned the thermostat up and still felt chilly.  I think it’s just all this rain because the temperature in the house is right where it always is.

6:30 a.m. - Okay.  I gave in.  Dressed to the nines and heading out into the downpour in custom made dichronic glass necklace and earrings, black dress pants, black heels, black blouse and black and white jacket.  Let’s see how it holds up in the rain…BTW, I had to use a safety pin in the waist of the pants because they’re TOO TIGHT if I button them.

I give you major props for dressing up!

It’s funny, we must be psychically linked! I dreamed last night that it was POURING rain here, just dumping buckets and I was trying to figure out what in the world the kids and I were going to wear!! We’re going through a heat wave here, so uh…. no rain in my future! It was the strangest dream - very realistic! Oh, and I was back in my childhood home. So weird!

Anyway, have a great day Patty! You’re sure dressed for it!
