4:30 - Busy day but it’s getting better. Managed to get to bed by 11:00 last night and was snoozing by 11:30. I’m meeting Pam at the gym in 45 minutes for water aerobics so I don’t have a lot of time but I want to try to get back in the habit of keeping track of my menu and blogging as much as I can.

Scales showed 171 again today. I’m finding that I get hungry every day around 10:30 in the morning and it’s driving me crazy because I’m eating breakfast and I usually don’t do that so I don’t know why I’m getting hungry so early. I made some popcorn at work today and had a diet Coke with it. That held me off till lunch. I’m going to drop by Kroger after my workout and pick up some of that wonderful 7 grain salad for dinner. A co-worker gave me a HUGE tomato so I’ll have salad and a ‘mator for dinner.

Gotta run! I want to check in with some of you guys!

7:30 - Nice workout at the gym. Pam didn’t make it. Got sick right before she was leaving. She’s seeing all kinds of physicians but they never seem to figure out what’s going on with her. Latest idea is perhaps gall bladder? I went by Kroger after my workout and it hit me hard again. Can’t go in there when I’m hungry! It’s so unbecoming to salivate as I walk down the aisles. What if I see someone I know? “Saw Pat at Kroger last night. She looked awful. Bloodshot eyes, drool running down her chin, and a glazed look in her eyes. Has she been ill?”

Sitting here munching on my 7 grains. This is soooo good! Hope I burn out on it pretty soon. It’s got 250 calories per cup! Still, it’s really filling with all those lentils, couscous, green mung beans, and other high fiber goodies so I don’t eat more than a cup or so. I wanted to slice that humongous tomato to go with it but DH has already eaten and I’m not going to slice it just so half of it can go bad.

One of my friends is transferring to another school tomorrow so I’m making one of Sarah’s Clafoutis with cherries and blueberries and taking it in for everyone. We’re all going to have a final lunch together. Better get to it!

Oh!  I almost forgot!  I put lotion on my hands before we left for school this morning and couldn’t get my slippery hands to clasp the metal belt I was wearing.  Asked DGS, Andrew to fasten the clasp.  He fastened it but said my belt was too tight.

“No, it’s not too tight, Andrew, it’s fine.”

“It’s too tight.  You’re sucking in your stomach.”

“No, I’m not!  There’s plenty of room.”  Ran my hand under the belt so show him how much room there was.  “See, I’m not holding my breath.  Why do you think it’s too tight?”

“Because it looks like you’re thinner in the middle part of you.  It kind of goes in on both sides.”

“That’s called a waist, Andrew.  It’s supposed to curve in on both sides.”

“Oh, well it looks funny.”

Point One:  I don’t think I have to worry about Andrew and girls anytime soon.

Point Two:  That’s a compliment, isn’t it????

I am glad that your days are getting a tad better . Good for you getting out and exercising after a long hard day. I have been BAD and have only worked out once this whole week. You are being so good and it will show on your scale!
Maybe you are hungry because you are expending more energy with work on top of everything else? Maybe something with protein? Light yogurt or light cheese sticks? Maybe that will help? Yummy a 7 grain salad sounds good.
I hope that you have a good night.
Take care
Joy

I think that IS a compliment! hehe! I have to retire my old belt soon. Or at least reserve it for my work pants. It’s a cheap walmart belt so it’s slowly looking more and more pathetically maimed.

Not sure what your feelings are on nutrition bars, Patty, but I’ve found that a SlimFast snack bar usually staves off the hungries, and can be eaten discreetly, unlike a piece of fruit. Special K makes some too. I’ve discovered if I tame the beast before it gets out of control, I’ll eat less overall. That’s my theory anyway, and I’m sticking to it.

God Bless Andrew! O for my son to exclaim that I kinda go in at the middle. It most certainly falls under the “Compliments” column.

That is a wonderful compliment! Also, like Susan said, there are lots of healthy snack bars on the market now… anything around 100 calories or less, with fibre should make a good 10:30am snack. It’s also good to spread out your calories, and not just have 3 main meals… (that’s what “they” say, anyway… I’m not an expert :)

That’s definitely a compliment. Much better than when my son asks me why my breasts are so long. I asked him, “Don’t you mean big?” “No,” he said, “why are they so long?” He has asked me this twice! Out of the mouths of babes.

awwww! That was so sweet of Andrew to say that. How are the DGS enjoying their first week back at school?
