The Friday of Wonderful Things

Well today is the day.  I am going to get back in it.  I am going to break this 175 barrier that I’ve been at for awhile now.  I’m in it to win it.  I’m starting to feel pumped again.  Yesterday I made chickpeas and spinach for dinner.  It was so good.  I haven’t eaten meat/chicken for a couple of days now and it makes a difference.  As a culture, Pakistanis love their meat.  It isn’t a meal if there isn’t any meat.  Well.  That has changed in my house.. and if you met my husband, you would think that would be impossible.

I find my energy has gone up a lot since reducing my meat consumption by a lot.  I’m not saying I’ll become a vegetarian.. because I won’t do that.  I love my meat, but now I will eat it a lot less.  I’m thinking we should be eating vegetarian 2-3 days a week.  It will give our bodies a much needed break and will help with dinner preparations on weekdays too.  I find it so much easier to cook vegetables than meat.

So today is the day, I’m going to get back on that horse and start REALLY working at this weight loss again.

  1. I agree- there are days where I can go totally meatless- of course then my sparkpeople gets mad at me lol ;)

I probably do this once a week but not consciously- it just happens.

  2. I have noticed that when I don’t eat meat I feel healthier and lighter too - less sluggish. I’ve almost cut out all red meat now - only once in a great while. I feel better about it. I still love a grilled steak once in a while though.

  3. I”m with you on the less meat thing…. I think my husband would throw a fit if I had anything more than 1 meatless meal a week, but it’s worth a shot! I could never give up meat totally!

Let’s get out of the 170s!!!
