The Vacation After the Vacation

When we went to Calgary, my husband was working the entire time and so he got another week off last week.  We decided to go to Ottawa and Montreal for a few days for some relaxing, site seeing and shopping.  It was really nice.  We were extremely active.. lots of walking and we went swimming at the hotel. However, we ate a lot of extremely tasty food too.. poutine, shawarmas, quesidillas, pizza.. etc..

As a result I am at 183 lbs this morning.  I’m happy just to be able to maintain my 30lb lost mark.  So it’s back to the grind in the weight loss department.  I had a great time so I’m not beating myself up about it.. I totally expected it and was happy that I didn’t gain more in the time we were away.  This last month has been pretty hard to work on the weight loss with all the vacationing we’ve done, and the sicknesses of the last 30 days.  But that is it. It’s over now.. we are healthy, for the most part (Yumna is still having some problems). We should be back to the regular routine for the next few weeks until my cousin comes in mid July.  She and her family are moving here from the U.S. and will be staying here until they get settled. I am really looking forward to her coming.  She has a little boy who is 9 months and I’m sure Safi and him are going to have a blast together.

So back to Phase I of the Fat Smash.. and mostly because we need to get back into our good eating habits.. and leave the junk food behind us.  Also it should be helpful in getting me back to the 170’s.  As for when my cousin comes, we are hoping to convert her to our eating style so that we can continue and will make for future get togethers between us easier.  We’ve converted so many of our family members.. my Mom, my husband’s brother and wife, and his sister.  I think had we insisted on eating healthy in Ottawa we would of converted my aunt and uncle, but we decided to be bad while we were there.

  1. I have a feeling I’m going to be back in the 180s after vacation, too. I agree- ya had a good time while you were vacationing, no reason to feel otherwise!
