185!!

Actually 184.4 but I just wanted to give 185 it’s due respect!  This is the weight that I am probably most comforable at.. I was this weight after delivering both Yumna and Safiya.  I feel so great… 185 is different this time.. I have so much energy.

Yesterday you’d think I’d taken speed.. I did laundry, cleaned out my closet and drawers, cleaned out the weeds out of my garden, went to the garden centre and picked up soil, gravel and flowers, came home and set up the planters in front of my house.  Oh and of course taking care of the kids and playing in the backyard.  Did I mention I picked up the soil myself from the car and brought it to the backyard.. the only thing DH had to do is move the gravel.

So I was thinking about Sterling.. and her blog being deleted the other day.. well, it made me sad. She was really cool, and her blog posts were always very interesting.. but from reading about her personality it makes sense to me what she did.  She made a decision and implemented it.. immediately.  I don’t think she meant to hurt anyone by up and leaving.

I’ve noticed that I am on the 3FC site a lot, and checking out the blogs a lot too… it takes up a lot of time.. sometimes I think I’ve developed an addiction, actually I know I have.  But, for now, I kinda need it.  This place is helping me lose weight.. I would of given up by now if I was on my own.  So for her, I was thinking that maybe she had the confidence to go on her own now.  I’m sure with a busy career like hers that maybe the blogging was interfering with getting her work done.  Anyways, it’s just my theory.

She was a great inspiration and I appreciate all her great advice.   You know sometimes I’m doing something and I’m feeling all stealth, and I’ll think to myself.. wow.. how sterlingesque.  Thanks sterling! You fierce sexy beast.. you will be missed!  You can get an idea by the number of chicks who have mentioned her leaving on their blogs in the last couple of days.

Actually.. I think about a lot of you.  It’s interesting how in such a short time I’ve learned so much about you all and how I think about you guys.  Thanks to all of you.. I don’t think I would of been this close to 30 lbs. lost without you guys!

  1. Holy crap, you are flying through the 180s!!! I know you talked about others inspiring you, but you’re inspiring and motivating me! Now I’ve got to catch up to you, girl! :-)

  2. our local news is doing a piece on how you can be successful at weight loss using the internet and sites like this to blog out your progress, or your setbacks and gain support….I will try to watch it, but I already know what they are going to say…it is a proven fact that you need support to have success, and if you can’t get the support from ppl in your real life…then an online community is the next best thing!
I know, my chicks help me stay accountable, and push me to places I never knew existed, they offer up advice, and give me ideas, and help me reflect what it is I am trying to figure out here on this journey. They have really become my friends. A group of us used to write on the journals before they were disbursed….we had become very close. We also migrated over to a group on facebook, and I can really say, I love them all. Just as if they were my good friends sitting in my kitchen having coffee with. Now we are here…and I miss when we don’t “talk” with one another.

  3. Thanks Fat Pants.. you don’t know how awesome that made me feel. Funny thing is that you are one of my inspirations too.. your running makes my walks with Leslie seem like baby steps!

Losingme, as for support.. my family is very supportive.. my husband has joined me on this journey, but somehow just having this wealth of information from all these people who have been through it all makes such a huge difference. Before 3FC I knew nothing about sodium related water retention, and I never even realized how high in calories cheese was. Seriously, I really think that high school health classes should include some of this awesome information. It would really help the obesity problem in North America.

  4. Oh, and have you looked up the calories for meatballs??!!! I don’t know if you ever have those - I do rarely - but I was in shock! I had no idea - LOL. CONGRATS TO YOU on 185 - I’m hopefully following right in your footsteps. And personally, I think it’s only an addiction if you let it control how you feel or it takes over your life and keeps you from doing other things - BUT YOU ARE A PRIORITY. So if it’s a priority to you and what you need for success, then I’d say it ranks pretty high on the list and time spent may be quite appropriate!
