No Pedicure Yet..

Well, when I hit 193 I was totally going to give myself a pedicure.. but I didn’t have time.. now I have some time and I can’t. I’m back to 194.4.   Sunday was so busy, with a visit to my friend’s house for her daughter’s birthday party and then dinner at my Mom’s house.  Yesterday my brother in law was in town for business and he was coming over to my Mom’s place for dinner, so we went there to see him..  My Mom’s place is a dangerous place.  I haven’t been to her place for dinner since my diet started because I knew how dangerous it was.. we would go and visit after dinner and just eat fruit at her place.

On Sunday I told her we’d come over and she said, no problem.. we’ll make roasted chicken, you can have that, right?  I said yeah.. sure that would be great.. I forgot what roasted chicken means at her place.. it means a side of mashed potatoes and gravy.  And then we made chicken pot pie out of the leftovers and she brought some of it over on Monday when she came over.

Then yesterday, in the evening we went over.. luckily we only found out about my brother in law coming after we had already eaten dinner, but we sat at the dinner table with them, and had a little here and there.. but can I tell you the menu.. biriyani (chicken and rice), keema with potatoes (curried ground beef with potatoes), fried fish, naan, yogurt, etc.. etc.. all these things are soo soo soo tasty.. and I can usually resist good food.. there was a lot of amazing food at the birthday party, and I was okay.  BUT, when my Mom cooks its a whole different battle.  It really sucks that I couldn’t stick to it at my Mom’s place.  My Mom has been the one who keeps asking me “are you still doing this diet?”, “isn’t it so hard?” and it drives me crazy.. she herself has battled with weight.. she lost most of due to a complication she had with her esophagus.. sort of an involuntary bout of bulemia.. she kept throwing up for a couple of months and then got surgery done.  Now she can only eat very small amounts at a time so she’s managed to keep her weight off.  Which is a big accomplishment in itself, but she should also recognize that this is something I have to do and be more encouraging.

I’m just happy I didn’t gain anything between yesterday’s weigh in and today.  So… back to the grind, and I’m hoping to get back to 193 this week so I can get that pedicure.
