Going Bananas

So yesterday I wrote about poutine, and sure enough, after dinner.. what did I do? I went to Harvey’s and had a 630 calorie poutine. This was such a strange behaviour for me.. I rarely just go to a fast food restaurant by myself and eat something.. actually I can’t remember the last time I did that. But, I convinced myself that I wanted this, that I should go by myself, so not to derail all of my husband’s hard work, and so I did. Was it great? Yes.. Am I paying the price?? YES! I came home, and did my 30DS and felt like I was going to throw up the whole time.. today I feel bloated and it registered big time on my scale. Yesterday morning I was at 195.8lbs. Today, I was 197.0.. I know the majority of that is sodium related water retention, but still I am so so glad it happened.. It had to go up. I wanted it to go up. If it went down it would only reinforce that this was okay. So great. It’s done.. now back on track. I think when you deprive yourself too much, you go a little crazy and your body demands things it knows you shouldn’t have.

It reminds me of what happened to my sister in Australia.. She went there during a banana shortage, and the price of bananas was totally insane.. something like $12 a bunch.. you could hardly find them in grocery stores. Sure she likes bananas as much as the regular person, but she turned into a banana monster in Australia, she had to have one.. she needed to have a banana.. it was so weird.. and she was willing to pay ridiculous amounts of money to have one. The first thing she did when she got home was go and eat a bunch of bananas.

I’m wondering if this insanity that hits us has been worked into the WW program by having an off plan day? How does that work? Do you just have extra points that day or can you eat whatever you want?
