A fun weekend..
On Saturday we went to the park. We had a great time.. we went for a walk in the park and then the
kids played. It was great because my eldest daughter Yumna has been so afraid of swings and slides for the last year. She would absolutely refuse to go. But on Saturday she went on everything.. the big swings, the small slide and the big slide.. and not like just once.. we’re talking ten-fifteen times. I’m so happy that she has combated her fear and has realized how fun the park can be. Her confidence is going up.. I’ve seen it in so many aspects of her life. She is so proud of herself for being able to write her name, she is finally walking around in the swimming pool without holding someone’s hand, and now this.. It’s great.. She’ll be turning four in April and I was really worried about her, but now I’m sure she’ll be fine when she goes to school in September.
We went to my friend’s house on Saturday.. can you imagine there were 8 girls there under the age of 6! Yumna and Safiya had the greatest time. So did I, on top of having a delicious dinner that was mostly on plan (I did have to try the mash potatoes.. ) I got to chill with my friends and relax because the girls were so occupied.
Then yesterday we went to the Bradley Museum here in Mississauga for Maple Madness. It is a pioneer museum, where they showed us how they made maple syrup. It was a really nice day out, we went for the tour, did some crafts, went for a horse wagon ride and had the mandatory pancakes with maple syrup. Yum. I forgot the butter.. I have no idea why, but I put butter on my pancakes, which normally I never do. However, I only had one. It’s funny how the psychology of a diet works.. sometimes because we feel like we can’t have things, we want them more than we ever have.
In the evening we went to my brother in laws place for dinner. I volunteered to make the salad and grilled vegetables to make sure there was plenty for us to eat. He made swordfish and burgers. I was so good… I had a little swordfish and have a burger patty on one side of a bun. But then out came the dessert. Ice cream with fruit and caramel. The first time I had vanilla with fruit and caramel.. the second time, under the guise of feeding my daughter, I had chocolate with strawberries.
So with that all said, today was my weigh in.. and I was nervous considering all the food fun I had yesterday. But yeah.. I weighed in at 196.8, its a loss of 1.8 lbs. So I’m happy with that.
