I’m back! … after a very long break. It mostly wasn’t a good break, but there were some benefits to it.

I gained the 40 lbs back that I had lost. I also realized that the way that I lost the weight in the first place was too restrictive, and it wasn’t healthy. Even at my lowest, I was very unhappy with myself and my body.

This time, I’m doing this the healthy way. I’m not going to deny myself what I want, but I will try to think and eat healthfully. In the meantime, I’m going to do my best to learn to love myself.

This journey is going to be made up of short term goals that tie into my two main long term goals, which are 1. to learn to love my body, and 2. to get to a healthy weight and maintain. My first goal has nothing to do with losing weight. It is to not binge for 30 days. They say that breaking a habit takes 30 days, and so I’m giving myself that much time to get a running head start to this. This also ties in with my effort to begin to be more conscious of what and how much I’m eating.

Also, I have a mini goal that when I’m out and about, I’m only going to drink water, aiming for 6 bottles a day. That means no buying coffee, pop or juice (except for when I need vitamin C because I’m sick, like today :( ). When I’m at home, I can have one bottle of Crystal Lite a day, or milk. I’m going to stick to that challenge for a week, and then see where I’m at.

In summary:

Goal #1 - No bingeing for 30 days. Finish date: June 10

Goal #2 - Drink only water when outside of the house. One Crystal Lite or milk while at home. Finish date: May 16

I’m off to pass out and sleep the rest of the day away!
